Method of manufacturing antireflection film and antireflection film

The present invention provides a method of manufacturing an antireflection film, including the successive steps of: applying a composition including a curable compound (a1), a plurality of particles (a2), and a solvent on a substrate, and volatilizing the solvent to provide a layer (a), the layer (a) having a portion in which the particles (a2) do not exist, and the portion having a thickness being 0.8 times the average primary particle diameter of the particles (a2) or greater; curing a portion of the curable compound (a1); causing a portion of the curable compound (a1) to permeate the substrate or to be volatilized so as to form an uneven shape; and curing the curable compound (a1) remained in the layer (a).

Wax-modified asphalt can be employed in peel-and-stick sheets. In some embodiments, the method includes adding a wax to an asphalt blend. The addition of wax can result in an asphalt having lower viscosity, higher softening point, improved compatibility, and/or stronger adhesion properties. These changes can be achieved in addition to maintaining both low and high temperature stability of the asphalt adhesive. In some embodiments, the wax is made from a recycled plastic.

Self supporting areogel insulation

A self-supporting aerogel structure is provided. The structure comprises a plurality of aerogel particles adhered together with an adhesive to produce a material exhibiting low heat transfer and high transmission of visible light. The aerogel particles can be coated with a polymer or pre-polymer and remain free flowing until they are activated to complete polymerization.

A glazing includes at least one transparent substrate comprising a first major surface and an opposing second major surface, wherein said first major surface is coated with an electrically conductive layer and the electrically conductive layer is absent in one or more regions of the first major surface. At least a portion of the one or more regions of the first major surface, and/or corresponding regions of the opposing second major surface, bears a low-emissivity material, and the one or more regions permit the passage of electromagnetic radiation through the glazing.

Obscuring bus bars in electrochromic glass structures

Embodiments described include bus bars for electrochromic or other optical state changing devices. The bus bars are configured to color match and/or provide minimal optical contrast with their surrounding environment in the optical device. Such bus bars may be transparent bus bars.

A glass laminate article includes: a resin layer provided on a first surface of a core substrate; and a glass substrate layer provided on the resin layer, wherein the resin layer has an initial modulus of 30 MPa to 250 MPa, the initial modulus being measured in a deformation range of 0.5% to 1.0%.

LAMINATE

Provided is a laminate that has both a photocatalytic function and a reflection suppressing function. A glass member according to the present invention includes a substrate having a first surface and a second surface and a functional film formed on the first surface. The functional film contains a binder containing a metal oxide that forms three-dimensional network bonds, metal oxide microparticles that are retained by the binder and dispersed in a single layer, and photocatalyst microparticles arranged between the metal oxide microparticles.

HYBRID SILICA GEL MADE OF POROUS SILICA PARTICLES

Compositions, methods, and articles of manufacture relating to a transparent/translucent insulating material formed by a hybrid silica gel composition made of porous silica particles joined with each other by silane crosslinking through a three dimensional silica network. In one embodiment, the hybrid silica gel includes small porous silica particles, and is made by a process that avoids energy intensive techniques.

Method of making multilayer glass structure

Methods of making multilayer glass structure are described. The method involves providing first and second glass sheets, and a first enamel composition layer and at least one separation layer between the first and second glass sheets, and firing the glass sheets to sinter the first enamel composition to the first glass sheet. The separation layer is a black pigment separation layer, a refractory material separation layer, or an oxidizer separation layer. The separation layer can improve separation of the first and second glass sheets after the firing.
