WINDOW ASSEMBLIES
A window assembly and method of forming a window assembly that is constructed to maintain separation of the environments separated by the window assembly when the window assembly is subjected to impacts and cooperate with the structure of associated with defining the window opening without detracting the operability of the window assembly relative to openings defined by the structure of third party original equipment manufacturers structures.
Articles of controllably bonded sheets and methods for making same
Described herein are articles and methods of making articles, including a first sheet and a second sheet, wherein the thin sheet and carrier are bonded together using a coating layer, preferably a hydrocarbon polymer coating layer, and associated deposition methods and inert gas treatments that may be applied on either sheet, or both, to control van der Waals, hydrogen and covalent bonding between the sheets. The coating layer bonds the sheets together to prevent formation of a permanent bond at high temperature processing while at the same time maintaining a sufficient bond to prevent delamination during high temperature processing.
Thermoformed cover glass for an electronic device
A property-enhanced cover sheet, and methods for forming a property-enhanced cover sheet, for a portable electronic device are disclosed. A property-enhanced cover sheet is formed by thermoforming a glass sheet into a specified contour shape while modifying one or more properties of the glass. Other property-enhanced sheets can be formed by layering two or more glass sheets having different material properties, and then thermoforming the layered sheets into a required contour shape. Property enhancement for a cover sheet includes, hardness, scratch resistance, strength, elasticity, texture and the like.
Laminated glass
A laminated glass having an interlayer between a glass plate on an exterior side of a vehicle and a glass plate on an interior side of the vehicle, includes a heat generator on a principal surface on a vehicle-exterior side of the glass plate that is on the interior side of the vehicle, wherein at least one of the glass plate on the exterior side of the vehicle and the glass plate on the interior side of the vehicle has a wedge shape in cross section, and wherein a maximum value of a layer thickness of the interlayer is less than or equal to 1 mm.
Bendable resin having patterned elements for improving penetration of wireless communication signals
A device attachable to a substrate for improving penetration of wireless communication signals is provided. The device is a bendable resin configured to enhance penetration of an incidental radio wave from a first region through the substrate to a second region by forming one or more communication signal beams in the second region. The bendable resin includes a base layer of a first material, and one or more patterned elements each formed by providing a meta-pattern of a second material on the base layer. The first and second materials are different and selected from the group consisting of a dielectric material and a metallic material. Each individual patterned element is configured to tilt the incidental radio wave to form the one or more communication signal beams, wherein each individual communication signal beam is beam-focused at a predetermined focal point or a predetermined focal area in the second region.
