Selective central nervous system treatment catheter and a method of using the same
An apparatus and method use a catheter for specific and discriminate treatment of central nervous system disease. With the catheter, selective hypothermia to the brain and/or the spinal cord for injury protection can be achieved without the need for systemic cooling. The catheter is also capable of draining excess cerebrospinal fluid.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR HYPOXIA
Systems and methods for hypoxia delivery are provided. An apparatus for providing intermittent normoxia and hypoxia intervals includes a breathing component, a normoxia fluid source, a hypoxia fluid source, a valve, and a control system. The valve is configured to disrupt flow from at least one of the normoxia fluid source and the hypoxia fluid source and the control system is configured to cause the at least one valve to switch between delivery of fluid from the normoxia fluid source and the hypoxia fluid source while maintaining positive pressure at the breathing component.

PREDICTION METHOD AND SYSTEM OF LOW BLOOD PRESSURE
A prediction method and system of a low blood pressure is provided, including: obtaining a plurality of feature sequence values; selecting two of the feature sequence values from the feature sequence values according to a time ratio relationship; calculating a relation coefficient according to the selected two feature sequence values by a weighting process; repeating to select the new feature sequence values and the corresponding relation coefficient and to assign the new feature sequence values and the relation coefficient into the input group until the feature sequence values conforming to the time ratio relationship are traversed; and obtaining a training result by substituting the input group into a low blood pressure prediction model.
Device for extracorporeal blood treatment having an evaluation and control unit
The invention relates to a blood treatment device having an extracorporeal blood circuit which comprises an arterial line, a blood pump, a blood treatment unit and a venous line, wherein the arterial and venous lines can be connected to a blood vessel of a patient, and wherein the blood treatment device has an evaluation and control unit, wherein the evaluation and control unit is configured to carry out the following steps: (a1) determining the blood recirculation in a blood vessel of the patient connected to the extracorporeal blood circuit; and (b) calculating the blood flow in the blood vessel using the blood recirculation determined in accordance with (a1) and using a provided value or a value likewise previously determined for the cardiac output of the patient.
Determination of cardiac parameters for modulation of blood pump support
The systems, devices, and methods presented herein use a blood pump to obtain measurements of cardiac function. The system can quantify the functioning of the native heart by measuring certain parameters/signals such as aortic pressure or motor current, then calculate and display one or more cardiac parameters and heart function parameters, such as left ventricular pressure, left ventricular end diastolic pressure, or cardiac power output. These parameters provide valuable information to a user regarding current cardiac function, as well as positioning and function of the blood pump. In some embodiments, the system can act as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool. Providing cardiac parameters in real-time, along with warnings about adverse effects and recommendations to support cardiac function, such as increasing or decreasing the volumetric flow rate of blood pumped by the device, administering pharmaceutical therapies, and/or repositioning the blood pump allow clinicians to better support and treat cardiovascular disease.
Medical device dislodgment detection
In examples described herein, a system includes an elongate member configured to be introduced into vasculature of a patient. The elongate member includes a pressure sensor configured to generate a pressure signal indicative of pressure in the vasculature adjacent the needle. The system includes processing circuitry configured to receive the pressure signal from the pressure sensor, detect, based on the pressure signal, dislodgment of the elongate member from the vasculature, and generate an output in response to detecting the dislodgment of the elongate member from the vasculature.
