BODY IMPACT PROTECTION SYSTEM
A body impact protection system includes an inner layer and an impact force dampening and defusing structure. The inner layer includes a material composition and is adjacent to a body part when the body impact protection system is worn. The impact force dampening and defusing structure is juxtaposed to the inner layer and includes a plurality of components. The components function to reduce pressure on the body part from an impact force on a layer by layer basis. Each layer of the system dampens and defuses the impact force such that, by the time it reaches the body part, it has been substantially attenuated and spread over a large area.
Sound-Insulating Material and Sound-Absorbing Material
A sound-insulating material includes 16 to 24% by weight of a base resin having a thermoplastic olefin (TPO) and a polyolefin elastomer (POE) and 76 to 84% by weight of an inorganic filler. The sound-insulating material can be used, for example, as part of a sound-absorbing and sound-insulating material in a vehicle.
FLUID-FILLED CHAMBER FOR AN ARTICLE OF FOOTWEAR
A fluid-filled chamber is provided and includes a first barrier layer, a second barrier layer, a foam structure, and a tensile member. The second barrier layer is secured to the first barrier layer to define an interior void between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer. The interior void contains a predetermined volume of fluid. The foam structure and the tensile member are disposed within the interior void, whereby the tensile member includes a plurality of fibers extending in a first direction between the first barrier layer and the second barrier layer.
Multilayer PSA foam particles
Unified multilayer articles comprising alternating layers including: a) at least two elastomeric foam interior layers, which are interior layers of the unified multilayer article, and which comprise: i) a first elastomeric material, and distributed therein: ii) expanded polymeric microspheres; where the elastomeric foam interior layers alternate with: b) at least two alternate layers directly bound to adjacent elastomeric foam interior layers; and wherein at least one of the alternate layers is an interior layer of the unified multilayer article. Adhesive films comprising the unified multilayer articles of the present disclosure are also provided, which additionally comprises at least one pressure sensitive adhesive attachment layer, which is an outermost PSA layer directly bound to a first face of the unified multilayer article and available for attachment of the adhesive film to an adherend.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS TO PRODUCE LIGHTWEIGHT REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC ARTICLES
Methods and systems that can produce light weight reinforced thermoplastic articles are described. In some embodiments, a method includes heating and pressing a core layer and then cooling and pressing the core layer to maintain the thickness of the core layer during cooling. Automotive articles, building articles and recreational vehicle articles that can be produced using the methods and systems are also described.
METHODS OF GENERATING MYCELIUM MATERIALS WITH IMPROVED PROPERTIES
Provided herein are compositions of mycelium material, and methods for production thereof. Also provided herein are articles of footwear includes an upper, a lasting board affixed with the upper to define an interior foot-receiving cavity therewith, and an outsole coupled with the upper opposite the lasting board. The upper includes at least a portion of a mycelium material that includes one or more proteins derived from an organism other than mycelium.
Process for manufacturing textured laminate sheet
A process for producing a textured laminate sheet includes a) positioning a substrate material adjacent a barbed face of a metal sheet. The barbed face has a plurality of barbs, and the metal sheet has an opposed face opposite the barbed face. The process further includes b) forcing the metal sheet and the substrate material together to impale the substrate material on the barbs and secure the substrate material and the metal sheet together as a laminate sheet, and c) debossing the opposed face to form a plurality of depressions in the laminate sheet and texture the laminate sheet.
BONDING DISSIMILAR POLYMER NETWORKS IN VARIOUS MANUFACTURING PROCESSES
A polymer composite of dissimilar polymers covalently bonded at the interface is disclosed. A method for bonding dissimilar polymers includes providing a first precursor to a hydrogel polymer network comprising a first coupling agent; providing a second precursor to a second polymer network comprising a second coupling agent, wherein the hydrogel polymer network and the second polymer network are different; initiating polymerization of the first precursor to form a hydrogel polymer network, wherein the first coupling agent is incorporated into the polymer network with a negligible amount of condensation; initiating polymerization of the second precursor to form a second polymer network, wherein the second coupling agent is incorporated into the second polymer network with a negligible amount of condensation; contacting one of the first hydrogel precursor or the hydrogel polymer network with one of the second polymer precursor or second polymer networks and initiating condensation between the first and second coupling agents to form a covalent bond.
Composite articles including surface layers that provide enhanced formability
Prepregs, composites and articles are described that comprise a porous core layer and a surface layer comprising bi-component fibers which can enhance formability of the article without breakthrough. The enhanced formability can permit forming or drawing of the article to increased depths without breakthrough. Interior and exterior automotive components including the articles are described.
SEALING FOAM RESPIRATOR, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SEALING FOAM
The present invention relates to a sealing foam, a respirator, and a method for manufacturing a sealing foam. The sealing foam includes: a main body part, the main body part being a porous foam; an air-proof film on a continuous surface; and an anchor layer, the anchor layer being continuously provided on the upper layer of the main body and provided between the air-proof film and the main body part, and the anchor layer being partially embedded in pores of the porous foam. The respirator includes a respirator main body and a sealing foam of the present invention. The method for manufacturing a sealing foam includes: providing a porous foam to prepare a main body part of a sealing foam, and providing an anchor layer and an air-proof film on the porous foam, so that the air-proof film is continuously provided on an upper surface of the main body part, wherein the anchor layer is provided between the air-proof film and the main body part, and is partially embedded in pores of the porous foam.
