FLEXIBLE COMPOSITE
The present invention relates to a flexible composite that can be set to become rigid or semi-rigid, the composite comprising: a first layer; a second layer opposing the first layer and separated from the first layer by a space; a fill material located in the space between the first and second layers, which is capable of setting to a rigid or semi-rigid solid on the addition of a liquid, gas or radiation; a plurality of elements extending substantially into the space from the first layer and/or the second layer and which may pass through the opposing layer or join with other elements present in the space from an opposing layer, thereby forming linking elements for joining the layers together; and wherein the unset fill material is provided in the space at a pressure such that tension is applied one or more of the linking elements and to cause the first and/or second layers to bulge outwards relative to the longitudinal length of said one or more linking elements under tension.
ENGINEERED FLOORING PRODUCT AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
An engineered flooring product suitable for indoor or outdoor flooring applications, and a method of manufacturing thereof are provided. The engineered flooring product comprises a core layer, the core layer comprising: (i) a hydrate compound comprising magnesium hydroxide and magnesium chloride; (ii) one or more hydrate compounds each comprising magnesium hydroxide and magnesium sulfate; and (iii) one or more stabilizing agents. The hydrate compounds are derived at least in part from magnesium oxide. The core layer has a composition that is free of PVC and other plastic-based materials and is selected to provide one or more desired physical properties such as, but not limited to, a desired degree of water resistance, durability, and thermal expansion and contraction. The core layer preferably has a composition that provides a thermal expansion coefficient equivalent to or comparable to concrete.
Non-black EPDM roof membranes with improved weathering
A non-black roofing membrane comprises an EPDM rubber; a non-black filler; a UV light stabilizer selected from the group consisting of NOR-HALS of the formula ##STR00001##
wherein R* is C.sub.1-C.sub.20alkyl, OH-substituted C.sub.1-C.sub.20alkyl, optionally C.sub.1-C.sub.4 alkyl-substituted C.sub.5-C.sub.12cycloalkyl, C.sub.7-C.sub.9phenylalkyl or O- or S-interrupted C.sub.2-C.sub.20alkyl, preferably C.sub.1-C.sub.12alkyl, benzyl or C.sub.5-C.sub.8 cycloalkyl especially C.sub.6-C.sub.10alkyl or cyclohexyl; and a cure package. The resultant roofing membrane provides increased weathering resistance.
PARTICULATE FOAM STACKED CASINGS
An article of footwear includes an upper, a midsole attached to the upper, and an outsole. The midsole has a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed. The outsole has a ground-engaging surface, an inner surface disposed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface, and a wall extending from the ground-engaging surface and surrounding the outsole. The article of footwear also includes at least two casings each containing particulate matter and having a thickness extending substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the outsole. The at least two casings are arranged in a layered configuration and received within a cavity bounded by the wall of the outsole and between the bottom surface and the inner surface.
PARTICULATE FOAM IN COATED CARRIER
An article of footwear includes an upper, an outsole attached to the upper, and a midsole. The outsole is attached to the upper and includes a ground-engaging surface and an inner surface disposed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface. The midsole includes a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed and opposing the inner surface of the outsole to define a cavity therebetween. The article of footwear also includes a casing received within the casing and defining an interior void. The interior void contains a first quantity of particulate matter movable relative to the casing and a second quantity of particulate matter attached to the casing.
PARTICULATE FOAM WITH FLEXIBLE CASING
An article of footwear includes an upper, a midsole attached to the upper, and an outsole. The midsole has a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed. The outsole has a ground-engaging surface, an inner surface disposed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface, and a wall extending from the ground-engaging surface and surrounding the outsole. The article of footwear also includes a casing containing particulate matter and having a length that is greater than a length of the outsole. The casing includes a first fold at a predetermined location along its length. The casing is received within a cavity bounded by the wall of the outsole and between the bottom surface and the inner surface.
PARTICULATE FOAM WITH PARTIAL RESTRICTION
An article of footwear includes an upper, an outsole, and a midsole disposed between the upper and the outsole. The outsole is attached to the upper and has a ground-engaging surface. The midsole has a series of walls that define a series of channels extending substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the midsole and along an entire length of the midsole. The series of channels are isolated from one another and each channel receives a quantity of particulate matter therein.
PARTICULATE FOAM WITH PARTIAL RESTRICTION
An article of footwear includes an upper, an outsole attached to the upper, and a midsole disposed between the upper and the outsole. The outsole includes a ground-engaging surface, an inner surface formed on an opposite side of the outsole than the ground-engaging surface, and a wall surrounding a perimeter of the outsole. The wall cooperates with the inner surface to define a cavity. The midsole includes a footbed and a bottom surface disposed on an opposite side of the midsole than the footbed and opposing the inner surface of the outsole. The article of footwear also includes fibers received within the cavity. The fibers cooperate with one another to form a mesh that at least partially fills the cavity. The article of footwear also includes particulate matter disposed within the cavity and received within interstitial spaces of the mesh.
Method of producing a glueless dustless composite flooring material system
A glueless dustless composite flooring material system providing PVC-based flooring having layers providing different qualities of hardness, wear-resistance, sound deadening, and decorative patterns, avoiding the use of moisture-susceptible compressed dust filler, with layers fused together, avoiding the manufacturing complexity and delamination risks of using glue or adhesive, with a quickly-cured, UV-cured top coating providing long-lasting high performance and shortening and simplifying the manufacturing, which can be done in a sheet-form, essentially continuous-run manner, with an ability to quickly and simply change the optional design printing and texturing produced, and having an optional underlayment layer.
