The biomimetic composite material comprises multiple composite film formed from biomass fibers and an inorganic nanomaterial, wherein an organic polymer material is arranged between the multiple composite film layers or in the composite base body. The invention combines a high-mechanical-performance shellfish structure with a wood fiberboard to overcome the original defects of the fiberboard, improve the fiberboard performances and endow it with new special performances, so that the prepared material has dual functions of the fiberboard and the nanomaterial at the same time.
Monolithic Breathable Film and Composite Manufactured Therefrom
Breathable multilayer films suitable for a wide variety of uses (e.g., protective apparel, surgical gowns, surgical drapes, aprons, roofing material, house wrap, etc.) are disclosed. The breathable multilayer film may include a monolithic core layer. The monolithic core layer may comprise at least one highly breathable polymer. The breathable multilayer film may also include at least one skin layer. The skin layer or layers may comprise at least one highly breathable polymer, a filler, and a non-breathable material. An exemplary structure of the breathable multilayer film provides a monolithic core layer, a first skin layer on one side of the monolithic core layer, and a second skin layer on the other side of the monolithic core layer. An exemplary construction of one or both of the skin layers includes one or more highly breathable polymers, a filler, and a non-breathable material. The filler, for example, may comprise calcium carbonate.
WATERPROOF SOUND-TRANSMITTING SHEET
A waterproof sound-transmitting sheet, which interposes an adhesive layer composed of a material having micropores formed therein, thus smoothing the flow of the air between a waterproof sound-transmitting layer and a support layer. The waterproof sound-transmitting sheet includes a waterproof sound-transmitting layer formed of a film having elasticity, an adhesive layer having one surface adhered to one surface of the waterproof sound-transmitting layer, and a support layer having one surface adhered to the other surface of the adhesive layer; and the adhesive layer includes a substrate having a pore formed therein and an adhesive agent formed on both surfaces of the substrate.
MULTILAYER THERMOPLASTIC STRUCTURE WITH CARBON NANOTUBE HEATERS
A multilayer heating structure for controlling ice accumulation on a surface of an aircraft includes a carbon nano-tube (CNT) heater. The heater includes: a CNT layer; a first encapsulation layer disposed on a first side of the CNT layer formed of a first encapsulation layer thermoplastic material; and a second encapsulation layer disposed on a second side of the CNT layer formed of a second encapsulation layer thermoplastic material.
CURVED PANEL PART
A curved panel part includes: a curved panel made of metal; and a reinforcement joined to the curved panel and made of a plurality of FRP layers including continuous fibers, in which each of the plurality of FRP layers has a single fiber direction, at least one layer out of the plurality of FRP layers has a fiber direction different from that of another layer, in the plurality of FRP layers, a proportion of layers having an angular difference in the fiber direction of 30° or more is 15% or more of all of the layers, and when calculating, by defining a maximum principal curvature direction of the curved panel as a 0° direction and a direction orthogonal to the 0° direction as a 90° direction, each of a 0° direction component and a 90° direction component regarding the fiber direction of each FRP layer of the reinforcement joined to the curved panel, by using a trigonometric function, an expression (1) is satisfied.
Decorative sheet
A decorative sheet comprises a substrate layer; a pattern layer provided on the first front surface of the substrate layer; and a thermoplastic resin layer provided on the second front surface of the pattern layer. A test piece of 8 mm width from the decorative sheet is taken; the storage modulus is measured with an initial chuck distance of 10.77 mm, a start temperature of 30° C., an end temperature of 150° C., a temperature increase rate of 5° C./min, and a measurement frequency of 1.0 Hz. The ratio of the difference between the second storage modulus and a third storage modulus when the decorative sheet changes from the transition region to a rubbery flat region to the difference between a first storage modulus when the environmental temperature is 30° C. and a second storage modulus when the decorative sheet changes from a glassy region to a transition region is 3.5 or less.
VEHICLE COMPONENT UNIT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A VEHICLE COMPONENT UNIT
A vehicle component unit including a reinforcing open area core layer, a high gloss surface layer, and an encapsulating plastic layer. The reinforcing open area core layer has a first side and an oppositely opposed second side and a first end and an oppositely opposed second end each extending between the first side and the second side. The high gloss surface layer is positioned on the first side of the reinforcing open area core layer. The encapsulating plastic layer has a first end and a second end and is positioned on the second side of the reinforcing open are core layer. The first end and the second end of the encapsulating plastic layer are embedded into the high gloss surface layer with an embedded length L, such that the encapsulating plastic layer covers the first end and the second end of the reinforcing open area core layer.

A thermoplastic composition includes a thermoplastic polymer and a polyaryletherketone polymer in admixture with the thermoplastic polymer.
MULTI-FILM THERMOPLASTIC BAGS HAVING GRAB ZONES SECURED TO SIDEWALLS VIA SELFING AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
One or more implementations of a thermoplastic bag with a grab zone of deformations including raised rib-like elements positioned in a high-touch area of the bag. For example, the thermoplastic bag includes a hem skirt non-continuously laminated to a sidewall by one or more raised rib-like elements. The grab zone regions of one or more raised-rib-like elements are located in visible and high-touch areas to provide visual and tactile cues of strength and durability. Moreover, the grab zone regions of one or more raised rib-like elements serve to distribute pull and lift forces across a wider area in order to avoid common failures in high-touch areas such as over stretching, punctures, tears, and rips.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SANDWICH PANEL
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a sandwich panel comprises the steps of:
a) providing a plate-shaped assembly of a first cover part and a second cover part and between these cover parts a core part of a thermoplastic material containing a physical blowing agent,
b) heating the assembly resulting from step a) under pressure between press tools in a press to a foaming temperature below the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic material in the core part, thereby effecting adhesion of the foamed core part to the first and second cover parts
c) foaming the thermoplastic material in the core part under pressure and at the foaming temperature wherein the spacing between the press tools is increased;
d) a cooling step of cooling the foamed sandwich panel resulting from step c), while the sandwich panel is maintained under pressure between the press tools;
e) removing the thus cooled sandwich panel from the press; and
f) drying the sandwich panel thus obtained;
wherein the cooling step d) comprises a first substep d1) of cooling the foamed assembly from the foaming temperature to an intermediate temperature in the range of 70-100° C. at a first cooling rate and a second substep d2) of cooling the foamed assembly from the intermediate temperature to ambient temperature at a second cooling rate, the second cooling rate is less than the first cooling rate.
