Asymmetric polytetrafluoroethylene composite having a macro-textured surface and method for making the same
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composite articles that have a macro textured surface. The composite articles include at least two different PTFE membranes in a layered or stacked configuration. The composite article has a macro textured surface characterized by a plurality of strands raised from the surface of the PTFE membrane. The strands may be formed of either interconnected nodes of PTFE or of at least one nodal mass of PTFE and have a length equal to or greater than about 1.5 mm. The macro textured surface provides a topography to the first PTFE membrane. The composite articles have a bubble point from about 3.0 psi to about 200 psi, a thickness from about 0.01 to about 3.0 mm, and a bulk density from about 0.01 g/cm.sup.3 to about 1.0 g/cm.sup.3.
Inkjet printing methods for manufacturing decorative laminate panels
An inkjet printing method for manufacturing decorative laminate panels ordered by a customer includes i) providing an inkjet printing device with a print job including one or more decorative patterns and an identification code assigned to the one or more decorative patterns; and ii) printing the one or more decorative patterns with one or more inkjet inks and applying the identification code on a substrate web, wherein the substrate web is a paper substrate and the one or more inkjet inks are aqueous pigmented inkjet inks are printed on the substrate web before impregnation with a thermosetting resin; or the one or more inkjet inks are UV curable inkjet inks and the substrate web is a thermoplastic substrate web based on a material selected from the group consisting of polyvinylchloride (PVC), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyethylene-terephthalate (PET) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU).
Two piece transaction card having fabric inlay
Disclosed embodiments generally relate to a transaction card with a fabric inlay. The transaction card may include a housing component having a first housing surface opposite a second housing surface and an inlay component having a first inlay surface opposite a second inlay surface. The inlay and housing may be joined along the second inlay surface and the first housing surface. In addition, the first inlay surface may include a fabric material and a backer layer configured to support the fabric material of the first inlay surface.
Method for applying a polymeric film to a substrate and resulting articles
A polymeric film assembly comprising a first solidified interlayer on a polymeric film or laminate comprising the same that is contacted with at least a portion of a surface of an underlying article to provide, for example, desired surface characteristics. At least a portion of the first solidified interlayer becomes a softened interlayer positioned between the polymeric film and the surface of the article when contacted as such. The softened interlayer is then converted to a second solidified interlayer, which second solidified interlayer may be in a different form than or same form as the first solidified interlayer initially provided, for adherence of the polymeric film to at least the portion of the surface of the article. Ease of removal and/or repair of polymeric film and laminates comprising the polymeric film that are so applied is facilitated.
Anti-slip floortile
The present disclosure provides an anti-slip floor tile including a base layer, a decorative layer on the base layer, and a wear resistant layer on the decorative layer. The wear resistant layer includes a non-rigid or semi-rigid thermoplastic resin, and a plurality of first mineral particles uniformly distributed inside the thermoplastic resin. The present disclosure can improve the wear resistance of the anti-slip floor tile by dispersing the first mineral particles in the wear resistant layer.
Asymmetrical stretch composite for pipe liner
A fibrous material or composite including a plurality of layers joined to one another, for example, by needlepunching, is disclosed. The fibrous composite generally has an asymmetrical stretch profile, such that the fibrous composite is more extensible in the cross-machine direction than in the machine direction. The fibrous composite may find particular use in forming a cure-in-place pipe liner.
Structure with selectively variable stiffness
A stiffness control and systems for the same are disclosed herein. A first plate and a second plate can be connected with rigid support, a hydraulic actuator and a high roughness surface. Upon actuation, the actuator can force the high roughness surface against the first plate, thus increasing rigidity through hydraulic pressure against the first plate and the second plate. Thus, the stiffness of the surface can be altered in a variable and reversible fashion.
Method for forming a stress-free multilayer PVC sheet material
A method for forming a multilayer plastic sheet material (1) for floor and/or wall panels, wherein a first polymer mass comprising a rigid PVC is melted under pressure and is passed through an extruder head at a specified discharge rate in the form of a plastic strand in sheet form that is provided with one or more layers so that a multilayer plastic strand is formed, which is passed to two or more rolls of a finishing stand, which processes the multilayer plastic strand into a sheet of defined thickness, which is then led away via a transport device to a sawing device to be cut to the desired length, wherein, after the plastic strand in sheet form leaves the extruder head, it is first passed between a top roll and a bottom roll of a roughing stand, wherein the speed of the rolls of the finishing stand and the rolls of the roughing stand is synchronized with the discharge rate of the plastic strand in sheet form from the extruder head, so that said plastic strand is processed without stress.
Elastomeric films having low tear propagation
Multilayer thermoplastic films, and laminates and articles comprising the films, wherein the film comprises at least one inner layer and at least two outer layers, wherein the inner layer comprises a polymeric composition comprising from about 55% to about 95% of one or more non-hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers, olefinic block copolymers, or combinations thereof; and each outer layer comprises at least 20% polypropylene and has a thickness of from about 5% to about 15% of the total film thickness, and further wherein the film has a constant force tear propagation of about 20% or less.
Floor coverings and floor covering systems and methods of making and installing same
Floor coverings having a greige good, an adhesive layer, and a secondary backing material. The greige good has a primary backing component having adjoined first and second portions, and a plurality of fibers. The secondary backing material has an attached portion and a first exposable portion, with the attached portion adhered to the first portion of the primary backing component by contact with the adhesive layer. The second portion of the primary backing component is unattached to the first exposable portion of the secondary backing material, and the first exposable portion defines a portion of the first end edge of the floor covering. The second portion of the primary backing component is selectively moveable relative to the first portion to a position in which at least a portion of the second portion of the primary backing component does not overlie the first exposable portion of the secondary backing material.
