A method of preparing a multi-layer assembly, or of protecting a surface of a multi-layer substrate from damage and/or contamination and/or debris, said method comprising the steps of: (i) providing a composite film comprising a polymeric base layer having a first and second surface and disposed on the first surface thereof a polymeric protective layer having a first surface and a second surface such that the first surface of the said base layer is in contact with the first surface of the polymeric protective layer, wherein said polymeric protective layer comprises an ethylene-based copolymer, and preferably wherein the polymeric base layer comprises a polyester derived from one or more diol(s) and one or more dicarboxylic acid(s); (ii) removing said polymeric protective layer from the first surface of said base layer; (iii) disposing on the exposed first surface of said base layer one or more functional layers to provide a multi-layer substrate, wherein the, or at least the uppermost, functional layer comprises zinc and/or tin in an amount of from about 5 to about 80 wt % of said functional layer; and (iv) disposing a polymeric protective layer comprising an ethylene-based copolymer onto the exposed surface of the, or at least the uppermost, functional layer comprising zinc and/or tin to provide a multi-layer assembly.

And also a method for manufacturing the aforementioned antifouling film equipped with protective film in which aging is carried out under certain temperature conditions while the protective film is laminated to a surface of the antifouling layer.

Embodiments herein relate to multilayer films for food packaging including migratory active substances. In an embodiment, a multilayer packaging film is included with a first polymeric layer and a second polymeric layer, wherein the first polymeric layer directly contacts a first side of the second polymeric layer. The first polymeric layer can be directly bonded to the second polymeric layer via a welding process. The first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer can each comprise the same thermoplastic polymer. Contact between the first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer can be discontinuous defining a plurality of cavities between the first polymeric layer and the second polymeric layer. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Roofing underlayment with hydrophobic nonwoven core

A roofing underlayment includes a hydrophobic nonwoven core layer that provides enhanced resistance to water infiltration. In addition to the hydrophobic nonwoven core layer, the roofing underlayment includes a coating layer adhered to a surface of the hydrophobic nonwoven core layer, and an exterior surface layer adhered to the coating layer. A resin film comprising a multilayer structure acrylic polymer and the film having an acid value of not more than 0.018 mmol/g in an acetone insoluble matter, an acid value of not more than 0.012 mmol/g in an acetone soluble matter, a glass transition temperature of not less than 80° C. and a thickness of 5 to 300 μm is obtained by a method comprising emulsion polymerization for producing a latex comprising multilayer structure acrylic polymer, coagulating the latex comprising the multilayer structure acrylic polymer to obtain a slurry, washing and dehydrating the slurry, drying the dehydrated slurry to remove the multilayer structure acrylic polymer, mixing 0 to 35% by mass of an acrylic resin and 65 to 100% by mass of the removed multilayer structure acrylic polymer and subjecting the resultant mixture melted to an extrusion molding.
