Systems and Methods for Generating Nitric Oxide
Systems and methods for nitric oxide generation are provided. In an embodiment, an NO generation system can include a controller and disposable cartridge that can provide nitric oxide to two different treatments simultaneously. The disposable cartridge has multiple purposes including preparing incoming gases for exposure to the NO generation process, scrubbing exhaust gases for unwanted materials, characterizing the patient inspiratory flow, and removing moisture from sample gases collected. Plasma generation can be done within the cartridge or within the controller. The system has the capability of calibrating NO and NO.sub.2 gas analysis sensors without the use of a calibration gas.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING A THERAPY AND SENSING A BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY IN THE MOUTH
Methods, devices, and systems are disclosed for controlled delivery of a therapy, such as a stimulant, to a mouth of a subject via an oral device positioned in a secured configuration in the mouth. At least one of a tongue position stimulator (TST) and tongue position sensor (TSE) is provided, according to certain aspects. According to another aspect, a stimulus is delivered to the mouth and/or tongue via a mouthpiece secured to the subject's teeth. In another regard, a stimulus is delivered that generates a natural response to eliminate or reduce sleep disorders, such as for example at least one of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AN INTENTIONAL LEAK CHARACTERISTIC CURVE FOR A RESPIRATORY THERAPY SYSTEM
A plurality of flow rate values associated with pressurized air directed to an airway of a user of a respiratory therapy system is received. A plurality of pressure values associated with the pressurized air directed to the airway of the user is received. A first time associated with a first breath of the user and a second time associated with a second breath of the user are identified. The plurality of flow rate values is filtered based at least in part on the identified first time and the identified second time. The filtering produces a subset of the plurality of flow rate values. An intentional leak characteristic curve for the respiratory therapy system is determined using at least two of the subset of the plurality of flow rate values and the corresponding pressure values for said at least two of the subset of the plurality of flow rate values.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING CONTEXT-BASED LIGHT AND/OR AUDITORY STIMULUS EXPERIENCE
A system and method for providing a context-based light and/or auditory stimulus experience to a user that includes administering dosages of light is disclosed. Environmental contextual data and/or personal (e.g., biometric and/or non-biometric) contextual data of a subject are obtained. Specific dosages of light are delivered to a subject based on the obtained environmental and/or personal contextual data. The dosages may be defined according to various parameters, including light wavelength, pulse frequency, intensity, area within the subject's field of vision, duration, pulse waveform shape, or a combination thereof. Auditory stimulus may also be provided, in synchronization with the administered dosages of light, and may be based on the obtained environmental and/or personal contextual data.
Devices and methods for sleep disorder diagnosis and treatment
The present invention relates to an integrated sleep diagnosis and treatment device, and more particularly to an integrated apnea diagnosis and treatment device. The present invention additionally relates to method of sleep diagnosis and treatment.
Respiration device and method for a respiration device
The present invention relates to a method and a respiration device having a respiration unit for generating an airflow for the respiration and having a monitoring unit. The monitoring unit is used to detect a respiration parameter and to classify events in the respiration on the basis of monitoring of the respiration parameter. In this case, the monitoring unit is configured to carry out an event analysis to recognize an occurrence, which is characteristic for Cheyne-Stokes respiration, of chronologically successive events and for this purpose to ascertain the period length thereof and to compare them to one another and to register the presence of Cheyne-Stokes respiration when the compared period lengths each deviate by less than 40% from one another.
Mind strength trainer
An assortment of algorithms, procedures and associated device-hardware to condition human mind on causality between a specific state of mind and an externally generated stimuli, including a procedure to collect (310) bio signals underlying specific mental moods, characterize (330) them, monitor (350,360) bio signal activity to detect such moods, and play mind games that enhance mind's flexing power with the help of said device. Invention also includes a method (340) to evaluate and engineer mantras that serve as said externally generated stimuli.
Method and apparatus for continuous management of airway pressure for detection and/or prediction of respiratory failure
Various embodiments are described herein for a controller for controlling the operation of a breathing assistance device that provides breathing assistance to a user. The controller comprises a processor that generates a respiratory index value that is determined during a current monitoring time period to detect a respiratory failure, or predict the respiratory failure when at least one PSG signal is measured. The respiratory index value is compared to a threshold to determine if the control signal needs to be updated to reduce or eliminate respiratory failure that the user is currently experiencing or to prevent a predicted respiratory failure from occurring.
Light diffusers for smart relaxation masks
A relaxation mask includes: a main body that defines a pair of eye cavities; and a light diffuser. The light diffuser includes a first lens that is disposed within a first one of the eye cavities. A first ledge is disposed along a top edge of the first lens and extends outwardly therefrom. A first light emitting component is supported on the first ledge and is configured to fire downward into the first lens.
