LAMINATED CAN END STOCK WITH ELEVATED TEMPERATURE ANNEALING
Improved aluminum can end stock (CES) is disclosed. The CES includes a laminated, amorphous polymer coating exhibiting low feathering, low blushing, and high performance in an acetic acid test. The laminated metal strip can include the laminated polymer coating on an interior-facing side and a lacquered coating on an exterior-facing side. The CES is formed by performing an annealing process on the laminated metal strip, wherein the metal strip is raised to an annealing temperature above the melting point of the polymer for a sufficient duration to render the polymer amorphous. In some cases, the polymer film laminated to the metal strip is a Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film.
CUSHIONING STRUCTURES INCLUDING INTERCONNECTED CELLS
Cushioning articles or structures are provided including a cell layer with an array of cells interconnected with each other. Each of the cells includes at least three cell walls extending between the first and second major surfaces thereof. The cell walls are shared by the adjacent cells, and the cell layer further includes a land region located at the second major surface and connecting the at least three cell walls. A base layer is attached to the second major surface of the cell layer to form a sheet.
Laminating apparatus, and film cassette and film shaft used therein
In order to provide a laminating apparatus that enables a film to be loaded in a reliable and easy manner without a complicated structure, a laminating apparatus 1 includes a sheet feed mechanism unit 10, a film cassette 20, and a press-bonding mechanism unit 30 configured to perform thermal press-bonding while sandwiching a sheet with a pair of films. The laminating apparatus 1 also includes an openable/closable upper unit 5, and employs a configuration in which the upper unit 5 is provided with one pressing roller 31 of a pair of pressing rollers of the press-bonding mechanism unit 30, and an upper member of another mechanism for performing a process in a state where the sheet is sandwiched between the films.
Method and apparatus for forming retaining elements
A method of forming a retaining device with hooks, wherein: a molding strip is provided that presents an inside face and an outside face, and that has a plurality of cavities, each cavity defining a stem extending from the outside face towards the inside face and including an end forming a head that extends from the stem towards the inside face of the molding strip; the molding strip is positioned on rotary drive means, the inside face of the molding strip being arranged to bear against the drive means; and molding material is dispensed against the outside face of the molding strip.
Tape lamination machine scrap collection assembly
A scrap collection assembly for a tape lamination head that applies a plurality of composite tape segments includes a crack-off assembly with a scrap crack-off redirect roller configured to engage one or more composite tape segments and one or more scrap portions; a secondary crack-off roller configured to engage one or more composite tape segments and one or more scrap portions; a pivot that connects the crack-off assembly to the tape lamination head, wherein the secondary crack-off roller selectively moves about the pivot to change a direction of composite tape movement; and a conveyor that receives the scrap portion(s) from the secondary crack-off roller.
Sheet processing device, sheet laminator, image forming apparatus, and image forming system
A sheet processing device sandwiches a sheet-shaped medium in a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlaid and partially bonded. The sheet processing device includes a separator, a conveyor, and a switching member. The separator separates the two sheets of the two-ply sheet. The conveyor is disposed downstream from the separator in a sheet conveyance direction and conveys the two-ply sheet. The switching member is disposed downstream from the conveyor in the sheet conveyance direction. The switching member switches a conveyance path of the two-ply sheet to convey the two-ply sheet to a fixing path on which fixing processing is performed on the two-ply sheet or a non-fixing path on which no fixing processing is performed on the two-ply sheet.
Method and apparatus for laminating glass sheets
By means of a method and an apparatus for laminating glass sheets, the effect of the variation of the initial temperature of the glass on the success of the lamination furnace treatment and the variation of the quality of the laminated glass can be eliminated, thus reducing quality costs. In the method, a sandwich structure sheet including glass and laminating film layers is heated in a lamination furnace, after which the heated sandwich structure sheet is conveyed between a pair of press rolls, and before the lamination furnace is measured the temperature of at least one glass sheet comprised in the sandwich structure sheet, and on the basis of that data, the heating effect of the lamination furnace on the sandwich structure sheet is changed. The apparatus comprises, upstream of the lamination furnace, a temperature measuring device for measuring the temperature of the glass sheets.
IN-LINE LAMINATION METHOD AND APPARATUS
A lamination system includes a film supply, a non-woven material supply, and a laminator. The laminator causes a film from the film supply to be laminated to a sheet from the non-woven material supply to establish a laminated sheet.
Filmless backsheets with good barrier properties
A multilayer nonwoven structure is described where the nonwoven structure comprises at least two spun bond layers and at least one easily meltable layer. The easily meltable layer is located between the at least two spunbond layers. The easily meltable layer is comprised of a polymer having a melting point at least 20° C. less than the melting point of the polymer which comprises the surface of the fibers which comprise the spun bond layer, or is made from a polymer which is readily absorbs some form of radiation. Under bonding conditions, the fibers which make up the easily meltable layer can be melted to form a film, thereby improving bather properties of the nonwoven structure.
