Gantry based film applicator system
Various embodiments provide a masking system to apply a mask to a workpiece, comprising: a frame structure, an application head, an X-axis movement element, a Y-axis movement element, a Z-axis movement element, and a workpiece movement element. The frame structure comprising a workpiece support. The application head can be configured to apply film to a workpiece. The application head can comprise a vacuum roller comprising a rotatable cylindrical body with an outer surface; a film roll comprising film wrapped around a spool; a cutting element configured to cut the film to separate a portion of the film from a remainder of film on the film of the film roll, and a guide element disposed between the film roll and the vacuum roller. The guide element is moveable. The guide element is configured to contact an unwound portion of the film between the film roll and the vacuum roller.
WORKSITE APPLICATION TOOL FOR TAPE OR FILM
The present disclosure provides an apparatus for applying forces to a tape or a film. In one aspect, the apparatus has an edge for pressing and pushing tape or film uniformly across a surface, an operable light emitting device for illumination, a cutting blade, and a receptacle for a leash or lanyard. The receptacle for a leash or lanyard may be used to secure the apparatus to a belt, harness or other item, and to enable use of other tools without risking loss or damage of the apparatus.
FILM APPLICATOR FOR CYLINDRICAL SENSOR WINDOW
A film-application apparatus includes a body including a first body half, a second body half, and a hinge coupling the body halves; and a squeegee blade movable from a first position relative to the body to a second position relative to the body. The second body half is rotatable about the hinge relative to the first body half to a closed position. When the second body half is in the closed position, the body includes a top ring and a bottom ring both centered on an axis and defining an axial gap therebetween. When the second body half is in the closed position and the body is enclosing a sensor having a cylindrical sensor window, the axial gap exposes the cylindrical sensor window, and moving the squeegee blade from the first position to the second position covers substantially an entire surface area of the cylindrical sensor window.
APPLICATOR FOR APPLYING PROTECTIVE COVERINGS TO ELECTRONIC DEVICE DISPLAYS
An applicator is provided for applying protective films to electronic device displays. The applicator includes a base, a screen protector, and a squeegee. The base includes a pocket for receiving an electronic device. The screen protector is affixed to the base so as to overlie an electronic device. The screen protector preferably includes three layers including a protective film, cap sheet, and back liner. The squeegee is provided for removing the back liner and for simultaneously affixing the protective film to an electronic device.
