Dispersible adhesively bonded tissue laminate

Disclosed is a dispersible adhesively bonded wet tissue laminate and more particularly a dispersible wet wipe comprising two or more adhesively bonded tissue plies. Generally, the wipe comprises first, and second tissue plies adhesively bonded to one another by an adhesive, particularly a triggerable binder, disposed at the interface of the plies. The first and second tissue plies preferably comprise fibrous tissue plies and more preferably wet-laid tissue plies consisting essentially of conventional papermaking fibers. The adhesively bonded laminates are generally strong enough to withstand use, such as having a geometric mean wet tensile strength (GMWT) greater than about 250 g/in, but disperse quickly in water, such as having a Slosh Time less than about 60 minutes.

Adhesive bonding composition and method of use

A method of and system for adhesive bonding by a) providing a polymerizable adhesive composition on a surface of an element to be bonded to form an assembly; b) irradiating the assembly with radiation at a first wavelength capable of vulcanization of bonds in the polymerizable adhesive composition by activation of sulfur-containing compound with at least one selected from x-ray, e-beam, visible, or infrared light to thereby generate ultraviolet light in the polymerizable adhesive composition; and c) adhesively joining two or more components together by way of the polymerizable adhesive composition, and a curable polymer for use therein.

Ultralow Monomer Polyurethanes

The present invention relates to ultralow monomer PU prepolymers containing free NCO groups obtainable from polyols, diisocyanates and NCO-reactive compounds, obtainable by reacting at least one polyol with at least one polyisocyanate, wherein the at least one polyisocyanate is used in molar excess relative to the hydroxyl groups of the at least one polyol to obtain a polyurethane prepolymer containing free isocyanate groups; and adding at least one compound having at least one H-acidic functional group to the polyurethane prepolymer containing free isocyanate groups in an amount such that the molar ratio of the free isocyanate groups to H-acidic functional groups (NCO:XH ratio) is 2 to 15, preferably 2.5 to 10, more preferably 3 to 8. Also encompassed are methods for its production, laminating adhesives containing said prepolymer, methods of bonding substrates and the use of the described adhesives for laminating two or more films.

BATTERY MODULE AND METHODS OF ASSEMBLY

A battery module and a method of assembling a battery module are provided. The method includes selectively applying a light-cure adhesive to recesses in a first side of a carrier layer and inserting battery cells into respective recesses. The method further includes exposing the first side of the carrier layer to light to at least partially cure the light-cure adhesive with the carrier layer in a first orientation, moving the carrier layer into a second orientation, and exposing a second opposite side of the carrier layer to light to fully cure the light-cure adhesive. The recesses may include a sidewall having crush points spaced apart along the sidewall and a bottom portion having an opening between a pair of crush points, where adhesive is not disposed between the pair of crush points.

Security element and method for producing the same

The present invention relates to a security element for a security paper, a valuable article or the like having a substrate (1), the substrate being at least partially furnished with a coating (2) that is substantially tack free at room temperature, and the coating (2) including at least one radiation-crosslinkable component.

Epoxy resin with enhanced viscosity stability and use thereof

The present invention provides low polyphenols (such as bisphenol A) tougheners for epoxy adhesives. The tougheners, and adhesives comprising the tougheners exhibit enhanced viscosity stability, e.g., compared to tougheners prepared from higher amounts of bisphenol A (and epoxy adhesives comprising them).

CURABLE COMPOSITION, CURED PRODUCT THEREOF, AND OPTICAL MEMBER

There is provided a curable composition, which forms a cured product with high light transmittance, a high refractive index, and high scratch resistance, a cured product thereof, and an optical member. A curable composition contains zirconium oxide nanoparticles, a dispersant, and a (meth)acrylate compound. The dispersant has an acid value in the range of 100 to 300 mgKOH/g. The (meth)acrylate compound contains a (meth)acrylate compound having a poly(alkylene oxide) structure.

WAFER LAMINATE AND MAKING METHOD

A wafer laminate has an adhesive layer (2) sandwiched between a support (1) and a wafer (3), with a circuit-forming surface of the wafer facing the adhesive layer. The adhesive layer (2) includes a light-shielding resin layer (2a), an epoxy-containing siloxane skeleton resin layer (2b), and a non-silicone thermoplastic resin layer (2c).

Softening Strip for Controlling Stress in Joints at Very Low Temperatures

A hybrid softening strip for controlling stresses in a joint at low temperatures includes a layer of sacrificial material that can be tailored to fit the softening strip in the joint after the softening strip has been bonded to a structure.
