Method for the production of a stack of laminations

In a method for manufacturing lamination stacks of controlled height in a tool, starting material is provided as continuous strip delivered from a coil or as an individual sheet. Laminations are punched from the starting material in several punching steps to a required contour of the laminations. A heat-curing adhesive is applied onto the laminations prior to performing a last punching step. The laminations are combined to a lamination stack. The laminations of the lamination stack are partially or completely heated in a lamination storage. The adhesive is liquefied by heating the lamination stack to build up adhesion and then solidified. Curing the adhesive at the liquefying temperature or solidifying the adhesive in the tool by cooling and subsequently heating the adhesive to a temperature below the liquefying temperature is possible so that the adhesive does not melt but undergoes further curing resulting in higher temperature stability.

METHOD OF FORMING A CUSHIONING SHEET

A method of forming a cushioning sheet includes forming a plurality of first sockets in a first layer; forming a plurality of second sockets in a second layer, each of the second sockets aligned with a corresponding one of the first sockets; positioning a cushioning insert within a void defined between each corresponding pair of the first and second sockets; and coupling the first layer to the second layer to retain the plurality of cushioning inserts within the voids.

Method of Manufacturing Headlining Using Moisture-Curing Adhesive and Headlining Manufactured Thereby
20230130842 · 2023-04-27 ·

Disclosed herein is a method of manufacturing a headlining, using a moisture-curing adhesive that can be molded at a relatively low temperature and enables energy saving by not requiring a condition in which bonding surfaces are preheated to an excessively high temperature. A headlining manufactured thereby the same method is also disclosed. The method includes coating a fabric with a moisture-curing adhesive, curing the moisture-curing adhesive by spraying water onto the moisture-curing adhesive, forming a headlining member by putting the fabric coated with the moisture-curing adhesive on a substrate after the curing, and pressing the headlining member so that the fabric and the substrate are bonded to each other and the headlining is shaped at the same time, after the forming.

METHOD OF MAKING FILM LAMINATES USING AMINE-REACTIVE ACRYLIC LAMINATION ADHESIVES

A description is given of a method of making film laminates using a lamination adhesive comprising (a) at least one acrylic polymer A with anhydride groups which are reactive with primary or secondary amine groups; and (b) at least one compound B with at least two amine groups selected from primary and secondary amine groups. The acrylic polymer A has a molecular weight of from 3000 to 50000 and the lamination adhesive is free of organic solvents, free of water and free of compounds with isocyanate groups.

Device for laminating a substrate with a thermoplastic coating material

A device for laminating a substrate with a thermoplastic coating material has an IR heating device for melting a surface of the coating material, an opposite cooling apparatus which actively cools the opposite surface of the coating material, and at least one press-roller assembly, which presses together the substrate web and the coating material to produce a hot-melt adhesive bond. In order to prevent any irregularities in the finished product, the cooling apparatus is designed as a rotatably driven cooling roller, over the circumference of which the following are arranged in succession: a feed apparatus for the thermoplastic coating material, one or more IR radiant heaters for heating the surface of the thermoplastic coating material resting on the cooling roller, a feed apparatus for the substrate web, one or more press rollers for pressing the substrate web against the coating material, and a removal apparatus for the laminated product.

Open area core sandwich structure assembly with vehicle exterior surface glass

A composite sandwich panel assembly including an open area core, a high gloss surface sheet, and a structural skin. The open are core defines a plurality of pores and has a first face and an opposing second face. The high gloss surface sheet is adhered to the first face of the open area core by a first adhesive layer. The high gloss surface sheet has a high gloss surface. The structural skin is adhered to the second face of the open area core by a second adhesive layer. A process for forming the composite sandwich panel assembly includes positioning the high gloss surface sheet, joining the first face of the open area core to the high gloss surface sheet with a first adhesive layer intermediate therebetween, and joining the structural skin to the second face of the open area core with a second adhesive layer intermediate therebetween.

Methods of assembling apparel products having thioester adhesives

Embodiments provide methods for assembling an apparel product. The methods include applying a composition to a portion of a major component of the apparel product or a portion of a minor component of the apparel product. The methods include applying the portion of the minor component with the portion of the major component via the composition. The major component forms a base portion of the apparel product and is configured to be supported and worn at least partially over a portion of a wearer. The minor component forms a secondary portion configured to be coupled to the major component with an adhesive. The methods include converting the composition to the adhesive to form the apparel product. The adhesive includes a material having a thioester bond.

System and method for producing a facing for a board product with strategically placed scores
11465385 · 2022-10-11 · ·

A system and method for producing a board product made from paper products that have a pre-scored facing in addition to a medium (sometimes called fluting). Conventional corrugated board may feature a cross-corrugated medium and one or more facing that have no score lines that are impressed (at least prior to assembly with the corrugated medium). Such a conventional board product may be inferior because any score lines that are impressed will damage the underlying corrugated medium in some manner. A breakdown in the strength of the underlying medium leads to poor precision when the eventual board product is scored, cut, and folded. A lack of precision in folding a board product leads to gap variation and fishtailing as any articulated portion of the board product may not maintain a precise plane of articulation when folded.
