Light diffusers for smart relaxation masks
A relaxation mask includes: a main body that defines a pair of eye cavities; and a light diffuser. The light diffuser includes a first lens that is disposed within a first one of the eye cavities. A first ledge is disposed along a top edge of the first lens and extends outwardly therefrom. A first light emitting component is supported on the first ledge and is configured to fire downward into the first lens.
TRACKING NOCICEPTION UNDER ANESTHESIA USING A MULTIMODAL METRIC
Systems and methods for tracking sympathetic-driven arousal state (SDAS) including nociception under anesthesia is described herein. The method includes obtaining heart rate variability and electrodermal activity of a subject. Point process models are generated for the heart rate variability and the electrodermal activity. A multimodal approach is implemented to determine a state space framework based on these point process models. SDAS can be estimated using the state space framework. In some implementations, an anesthesiologist can modify the dosage of drugs administered to the subject based on this estimation.
Negative Pressure Therapy System and Methods
A system for removing fluid from a urinary tract includes: at least one sensor configured to detect signal(s) representative of bioelectrical impedance and communicate signal(s) representative of the impedance; and a controller. The controller is configured to: receive and process the signal(s) from the at least one sensor to determine if the impedance is above, below, or at a predetermined value; and provide a control signal, determined at least in part from the signal(s) representative of the impedance received from the at least one sensor, to a negative pressure source to apply negative pressure to a urinary catheter when the impedance is below the predetermined value and to cease applying negative pressure when the impedance is at or above the predetermined value.
REHABILITATION ASSISTANT SYSTEM FOR PATIENT WITH COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENTS
A rehabilitation assistant system for patients with cognitive impairments, including an audio stimulation unit, an acupoint stimulation unit, a phototherapeutic unit, an electronic stimulation unit, a display and optical frequency-flashed stimulation unit and a control unit. The audio stimulation unit broadcast a binaural beats with frequency following response, and the acupoint stimulation unit includes several acupoint agents to output physical stimulation to a user. The phototherapeutic unit includes two near-infrared light groups, and the electronic stimulation unit includes two electrical stimulation agents to output physical stimulation to the user. The display and optical frequency-flashed stimulation unit is switchable between a display mode and an optical frequency-flashed stimulation mode, and the control unit simultaneously controls the audio stimulation unit to broadcast the binaural beats with frequency following response so as to improve the rehabilitation efficiency in patients with cognitive impairment.
Breath analyzer, ventilator, and method for breath analysis
A breath analyzer for detecting breathing events of a person ventilated with a respiratory gas, comprising an electronic computing and storage unit configured to receive a signal corresponding to a ventilation pressure and/or a respiratory flow and/or a tidal volume of the respiratory gas delivered to the person and, during a predetermined analysis duration, to detect a curve of the signal by a curve analyzer. A ventilator for ventilating a person with a respiratory gas, which ventilator comprises the breath analyzer and a method for detecting breathing events of a person ventilated with a respiratory gas is also described.
BLOOD PRESSURE LOWERING TRAINING DEVICE
A blood pressure lowering training device comprises a head frame unit corresponding to a user's head shape, an audio stimulation unit for broadcasting binaural beats with frequency following response to both ears of the user, a display unit including a display module for displaying a virtual image and blood pressure information and a blood pressure measurement module for measuring blood pressure, and a control unit electrically connected with the audio stimulation unit and the display unit, so that the hypertensive patient can perform a variety of adjustable blood pressure lowering training in one use process, and effectively improve the use intention of the hypertensive patient.
Sound therapy systems and methods for recalibrating the body's electromagnetic field
A sound treatment system includes an audio system for transmitting tones of predetermined frequencies through a plurality of outputs. A sound transmitting device is electrically connectable to one or more of the outputs, and includes a speaker for transmitting the tones received. The speaker is adjacent to crystal which is vibrationally responsive to the tones. A method of using the system includes generating tonal segments of predetermined duration, modulating the frequencies, and compiling these into an audio program. One or more sound transmitting devices are placed on desired locations of the body, and their inputs connected to corresponding outputs of the audio system. The generating step includes compiling selected predetermined frequencies into an audio program to generate the tonal segments, as well as modulating tones of one or more desired frequencies to generate the tonal segments.
Wearable apparatus
A wearable apparatus capable of altering a physiological parameter such as the heart rate of a user to provide a relaxing or stimulating effect on the user is provided. The apparatus comprises a device capable of engaging the patient's skin to provide a rhythmic tactile stimulus to the user that can alter the user's heart rate and an arrangement for securing the device to the user such that the device can apply the stimulus to the user. The apparatus may be part of a system enabling the device to be controlled remotely. The apparatus may also be configured to provide additional tactile stimuli.
SELF-CONTAINED FACE MASK SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATIC DROPLET DISPENSER FOR HUMIDIFICATION
Introduced here is a self-contained face mask system with an automated liquid-droplet dispensing mechanism (ADM) for humidification. The enclosure of the self-contained mask system can be comprised of one or more layers of breathable fabric adapted to flexibly conform to the face of a user when worn to form a cavity that is adjacent the nostrils and mouth. The ADM of the face mask system can be comprised of a reservoir in which liquid is stored, a respiratory cycle detector, a timer and controller, and a droplet dispenser that controllably dispenses droplets of the liquid from the reservoir into the cavity for inhalation by the user. The ADM can be contained entirely within the face mask enclosure or supported on the surface of the face mask enclosure such that the self-contained mask system, when worn by a user, can be supported entirely by the head and neck of the user.
