Liquid crystal devices having reduced electrode-gap visibility
Liquid crystal devices may include electrode segments that are spaced apart and have a gap therebetween. A bridge layer may be disposed in the gap and configured to have a resistance that is operable provide a substantially equipotential region proximate to the gap portion while still allowing the electrode segments to be substantially isolated electrically. The disclosed liquid crystal devices may have reduced visual artifacts and may be configured to be a liquid crystal display, a polarization control panel, or a switch having liquid crystal cells.

COOL ROOF SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A membrane roofing system that includes a waterproof layer that protects an insulation layer and a granule coupled to the waterproof layer. The granule has a 60% or greater reflectivity that reduces transmission of ultraviolet light to the waterproof layer. The granule is coated in a fluorinated acrylic copolymer that resists adsorption and absorption of asphaltic chemicals by the granule from the waterproof layer.
High temperature composites and their application
A high temperature composite includes a binder, cement or geopolymer and ceramic filler, negative coefficient of thermal expansion materials of AM.sub.2O.sub.8 or A.sub.2(MO.sub.4).sub.3 family or ZrV.sub.2O.sub.7. The material is compatible with concrete, any ceramics or metals or metal alloy. The material is heat shock resistant and stable in harsh chemical environments and is impermeable to most solvents. The new sealant materials can be used as sealants, heat shock resistant structural materials and coatings.
A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PANEL INCLUDING A REINFORCEMENT SHEET, AND A FLOOR PANEL
A method for manufacturing a panel including a reinforcement sheet having the steps of: providing a first layer of thermoplastic material, providing a reinforcement sheet, laying the reinforcement sheet and the first layer onto each other, applying a second layer of thermoplastic material on top of the reinforcement sheet at a side facing away from the first layer, at least partially melting the thermoplastic materials of the first layer and the second layer, adhering the at least partially melted first layer, the at least partially melted second layer and the reinforcement sheet to each other so as to form the panel. Additionally, the reinforcement sheet and the first layer are adhered to each other by pressing them together after at least partially melting the thermoplastic material of the first layer, but before applying the second layer of thermoplastic material onto the reinforcement sheet.
Decorative tape, method of manufacturing the same, and decorative cover including the same
Disclosed are a decorative tape including a printing layer, a base film layer on the printing layer, a nickel deposited layer on the base film layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the nickel deposited layer; a method of manufacturing the decorative tape; and a decorative cover using the decorative tape.
