Techniques for protecting pipe coatings
A method of protecting a layered coating on a length of pipe for subsea use includes applying an edge finisher to the coating to encase an edge of the coating by fusing the edge finisher with the coating or by moulding the edge finisher at an edge of the coating. Where the coating and the edge finisher are of thermoplastics such as PP, fusing can be achieved by injection moulding the edge finisher or by welding a discrete edge finisher component to the edge of the coating. Mirror welding may be employed for this purpose, with a hot plate being interposed between the edge of the coating and the edge finisher.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SHEET LAMINATE, MOLD FOR MOLDING SHEET LAMINATE, AND SHEET LAMINATE
A method for manufacturing a sheet laminate to be affixed to an adherent surface of an object, the method comprising preparing a sheet member having a front surface to become a design surface and a rear surface on which an adhesive part has been formed, bending an edge part of the sheet member by sandwiching the sheet member from a front surface side and a rear surface side in a mold, and heating a part of a bent sheet member. The sheet laminate has a flat part spreading out in a flat plate shape, a side surface on which the edge part bent by the bending step is configured, and a connecting surface protruding and curving toward the front surface side between the flat part and the side surface, and in the heating step, the connecting surface is partially heated after the side surface is molded in the bending step.
Methods of joining textiles and other elements incorporating a thermoplastic polymer material
A yarn or thread may include a plurality of substantially aligned filaments, with at least ninety-five percent of a material of the filaments being a thermoplastic polymer material. Various woven textiles and knitted textiles may be formed from the yarn or thread. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be thermal bonded to other elements to form seams. A strand that is at least partially formed from a thermoplastic polymer material may extend through the seam, and the strand may be thermal bonded at the seam. The woven textiles or knitted textiles may be shaped or molded, incorporated into products, and recycled to form other products.
Bonds for solar cell metallization
A solar cell can include a substrate and a semiconductor region disposed in or above the substrate. The solar cell can also include a conductive contact disposed on the semiconductor region with the conductive contact including a conductive foil bonded to the semiconductor region.
Film three-dimensional mesh fabric and its manufacturing method
A method of manufacturing a film three-dimensional mesh fabric has steps of preparing a base cloth, preparing a mesh fabric, preparing a hot-melt film, providing the mesh fabric on the base cloth, providing the hot-melt film on the mesh fabric, heating, compressing and sagging a part of the hot-melt film into a plurality of grids and attaching the part to the base cloth so as to form a sagged portion and a plurality of insert holes, tearing off the base cloth, removing the sagged portion, and generating the film three-dimensional mesh fabric having the mesh fabric, a remaining part of the hot-melt film attached to the mesh fabric without sagging into the plurality of grids and without being attached to the base cloth and the plurality of insert holes corresponding to the plurality of grids and formed on the hot-melt film.
SYNTHETIC FABRIC HAVING SLIP RESISTANT PROPERTIES AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
A synthetic nonwoven fabric having bonded fibers forming channels surrounding unbonded fibers forming raised slip resistant spots. The fabric is made by extruding hot polymer through a spinneret die onto a moving belt to form a sheet of random fibers, which sheet undergoes a calendering process between a pair of heated rollers, one of which rollers having a plurality of cavities defined in its surface. The resulting fabric can be laminated and otherwise combined with other layers as desired to provide an end product having good slip resistant properties.
Nonwoven composite
The application relates to a nonwoven composite containing a plurality of solid regions and a plurality of porous regions. The solid and porous regions form a repeating pattern on the surface of the composite. The solid regions contain a solid region nonwoven layer, an optional solid region polymer-fiber infused layer, and a solid region cap layer. The solid region nonwoven layer contains a plurality of first staple fibers and less than about 5% by volume of a first polymer. The solid region cap layer contains the first polymer and less than about 5% by volume of the first staple fibers. The porous regions contain a porous region nonwoven layer and a porous region polymer-fiber infused layer. The porous region nonwoven layer contains a plurality of the first staple fibers and less than about 5% by volume of a first polymer. The porous region polymer-fiber infused layer contains a plurality of pores.
Preparation process of spunlace intertwining type recycled cow leather
A preparation process of spunlace intertwining type recycled cow leather comprises a material preparation process, a cow leather fiber web forming process, as well as a mixed fiber web forming process, an overlapped web forming process, a base fabric manufacturing process and a cow leather finished product manufacturing process which are sequentially arranged according to a preparation process flow; the base fabric manufacturing process comprises a buffing process, a single-side immersion treatment process and an ironing process which are sequentially arranged for manufacturing the overlapped web into the base fabric; and the single-side immersion treatment process comprises the steps of subjecting a single side of the base fabric to single-side coating treatment of the water-based PU material or the oil-based PU material by adopting an inverted feeding device and using a water-based PU material or an oil-based PU material as a coating so as to form a single-side permeable immersion layer of the base fabric.
Polyurethane Roller Coating Process for Carpet Backing
A method for preparing carpet by using polyurethane to anneal secondary backing to a greige, comprising fibers attached to a primary backing using a roller application system. The greige is conditioned prior to coating and the polyurethane coated greige is contacted with the secondary backing and the laminate is tensioned and supported to maintain the laminate structure substantially through the polyurethane curing process.
