The subject matter of the present invention is a pump arrangement, in particular for use in the body's own vessels, having a pump and a sheath receiving the pump, bounding a flow passage and having a distal intake opening and a proximal outflow opening for producing a driving flow by means of the pump, wherein the pump is arranged in a first fluid-tight section having the distal intake opening and a second fluid-tight section includes the proximal outflow opening. In accordance with the invention, a further inlet opening is present between the first section, and the second section and is arranged between the intake opening and the outflow opening, with the first section and the second section being arranged with respect to one another such that the inlet opening opens into the flow proximal to the pump.

Inducing internal apoptosis in malignant tumors by positive electrostatic charges

A method for tumor suppression. The method includes inserting an active part of a wire into a cancerous tumor, electrostatically stimulating cancer cells of the cancerous tumor by injecting positive electrostatic charges to the cancer cells, and reducing size of the cancerous tumor responsive to the electrostatically stimulating cancer cells of the cancerous tumor. The active part of the wire is located at a first end of the wire. Injecting the positive electrostatic charges to the cancer cells includes accumulating the positive electrostatic charges on the inserted active part of the wire, and generating a positive electrostatic charge flow through the cancerous tumor responsive to accumulating the positive electrostatic charges on the inserted active part of the wire.

Dressing Augmentation To Promote Epithelialization

A treatment system for applying negative-pressure therapy to a wound site is disclosed. The treatment system may include a non-adherent material for applying to the perimeter of the wound site. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include a tape, a tissue interface, a sealing member, and a negative-pressure subsystem. The tape material may provide a smooth surface along the perimeter of the wound site for protecting the wound edges from stresses and for promoting epithelialization.

A method for tumor suppression is disclosed. The method includes preparing a chip by forming a layer of electrically conductive nanostructures on a substrate, placing the chip adjacent to a cancerous tumor, positively charging the layer of electrically conductive nanostructures by applying a positive electrostatic voltage on the chip, and reducing size of the cancerous tumor by electrostatically stimulating cancer cells of the cancerous tumor responsive to accumulating positive charges on the layer of electrically conductive nanostructures.

Carbon-Based Surface Plasmon Source And Applications Thereof
20180252947 · 2018-09-06 ·

A spaser device comprises a graphene resonator and a carbon nanotube (CNT) gain element coupled via exciton-plasmon interaction. The graphene resonator may be a rectangular or square graphene nanoflake (GNF), and the CNT gain element may be characterised by chirality vector (n,m) selected such that the CNT has semiconducting properties. The CNT gain element may be illuminated using a light source having a photon energy corresponding with a first exciton energy (E.sub.22) of the CNT, whereby excitons having a second exciton energy (E.sub.11) less than the first exciton energy are generated in the CNT, and coupled to a surface plasmon (SP) mode of the graphene resonator. When the rate of generation of excitons having the second exciton energy exceeds a gain threshold, continuous spasing is established within the spaser device.
