Printed rigid plastic substrates
A process for preparing a printed rigid plastic substrate is described, the process comprising: providing a rigid plastic substrate comprising a primer on a surface of the rigid plastic substrate, the primer comprising a primer resin; printing a liquid electrophotographic ink composition comprising a thermoplastic resin onto the primer on the surface of the rigid plastic substrate; depositing a cross-linking composition comprising a cross-linker onto the printed electrophotographic ink composition disposed on the primer; and laminating the rigid plastic substrate with a flexible film such that the ink composition and the cross-linker are disposed between the rigid substrate and the flexible film and wherein the lamination of the rigid substrate with the flexible film causes cross-linking of the thermoplastic resin of the ink composition and of the primer resin.
Transfer for Application to a Surface
A conductive transfer for application to a surface of a wearable item comprises a first non-conductive ink layer and a second non-conductive ink layer. An electrically conductive layer is positioned between the first non-conductive ink layer and the second non-conductive ink layer. The conductive transfer also comprises an adhesive layer for adhering the conductive transfer to the surface of the wearable item. The adhesive layer comprises a larger cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of each of the first non-conductive ink layer, the second non-conductive ink layer and the electrically conductive layer.
RECREATIONAL VEHICLE COMPONENT WITH IMAGE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING
A structural panel for a recreational vehicle includes a plurality of layers laminated together to form a lamination. The lamination forms an outer surface of the structural panel, which is configured to form a sidewall, a ceiling, or a floor of the recreational vehicle when mounted in the recreational vehicle relative to the vehicle chassis. The structural panel further includes an image that is formed on or in one of the plurality of layers in or internal to the structural panel and which is visible at the outer surface. The image is in a location that is in a known fixed registry with a structural reference, such as the outer perimeter, of the structural panel prior to the panel being mounted in the recreational vehicle wherein the location of the image is known relative to the structural reference of the structural panel.
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING AN ELECTRONIC PRODUCT HOUSING
Provided is a method for manufacturing an electronic product housing, where the processed housing includes a transparent housing and a film. The process specifically includes first making a film with a releasable substrate, then making the transparent housing by injection molding, glass or composite film material hot bending, pouring or other processes, and then bonding the transparent housing with the manufactured release film, and finally CNC engraving the bonded product, where the substrate can be retained or peeled off depending on the product characteristics.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING DECORATIVE MATERIAL
Provided is a method for producing a decorative material, including: a preparation step of preparing sheet printed matters each including a substrate and a picture layer on one surface of the substrate and a roll of a transparent resin film having a first surface and a second surface opposing to each other, the first surface having a pattern of protrusions and depressions, the second surface having a pattern of protrusions and depressions that is shallower than the pattern of protrusions and depressions on the first surface; an application step of winding off the transparent resin film from the roll of a transparent resin film and applying an adhesive to the second surface of the transparent resin film; and a bonding step of bonding the second surface of the transparent resin film and the picture layer of each of the sheet printed matters with the adhesive.
Code-shield label
A label including a first strip including a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first strip includes an opaque material. The first strip further includes a first area proximate the first end. The first area includes a first length along a longitudinal axis common to the first strip. The label also includes a second strip including a third end and a fourth end opposite the third end, wherein the second strip includes a transparent material. The second strip is laminated over the first strip such that the third end is disposed outside the first area. The fourth end extends beyond the second end a distance at least equal to the first length.
Methods of Manufacturing Decorative Laminate Panels
A method for manufacturing a personalized or customized decorative surface (103) having decorative laminate panels (119) including the steps of: segmenting a digital image of the personalized or customized decorative surface (103) into a plurality of decorative laminate panel images (108), wherein each decorative laminate panel image (108) is sized to fit on a decorative laminate panel (119); assigning a positioning code (109) to a decorative laminate panel image (108) for identifying its position in the digital image of the personalized or customized decorative surface (103); creating a non-staggered digital layout (110) of the plurality of decorative laminate panel images (108); inkjet printing the non-staggered digital layout (110) on a substrate (112); heat pressing the inkjet printed substrate with a protective layer (115) into a decorative laminate (113); dividing the decorative laminate (113) into decorative laminate panels (119), wherein the front side of a decorative laminate panel (119) includes one of the plurality of inkjet printed decorative laminate panel images (108) and the back-side of decorative laminate panel (119) includes the positioning code (109) of the decorative laminate panel image (108) inkjet printed on the front side of the decorative laminate panel (119).
ULTRAVIOLET (UV) HEAT-ACTIVATED LAMINATING ADHESIVE FOR AN INKJET PRINTING PROCESS
Apparatus, compositions, and systems for ultraviolet (UV) heat-activated laminating adhesives applied via an inkjet printing process are disclosed. A system includes a first inkjet mechanism configured to deposit ink in a particular pattern onto a surface of a rigid medium. A second inkjet mechanism is configured to deposit a laminating adhesive onto the particular pattern printed on the surface of the rigid medium. A pair of stainless steel plates is configured to receive an overlay film layer and the laminating adhesive deposited onto the particular pattern printed on the surface of the rigid medium. The overlay film layer is positioned such that a surface of the overlay film layer faces the laminating adhesive. Pressure and heat are applied to the overlay film layer and the laminating adhesive to laminate the particular pattern printed on the surface of the rigid medium.
