JIG FOR LAMINATE PRODUCTION, METHOD FOR LAMINATE PRODUCTION, PACKAGE, LAMINATE, ELECTROLYZER, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING ELECTROLYZER
A jig for laminate production for producing a laminate of an electrode for electrolysis and a membrane, the jig containing: a roll for electrode around which an elongate electrode for electrolysis is wound, and a roll for membrane around which an elongate membrane is wound.
Method of manufacturing a fan blade and a fan blade
A method of manufacturing a fan blade for a gas turbine engine. The method includes providing a compression mould having an internal mould surface corresponding to an outer profile of a fan blade, providing opposing first and second laminates to form a shell corresponding to the mould surface, each laminate comprising a lay-up of plies of fibre reinforcement material, applying a core material comprising quasi-isotropic short fibre reinforced resin in the compression mould so that with the compression mould in a moulding configuration the core material is enclosed by the shell, the core material and the shell forming a pre-form for the fan blade, applying pressure to compress the pre-form so that it conforms to the mould surface, and applying heat to cure the pre-form.
Electrolyte dispensing and coating system
Electrolyte dispensing systems according to embodiments of the present technology may include a housing defining an internal volume. The housing may define an inlet and an outlet. The dispensing system may include an inlet roller positioned proximate the housing inlet. The inlet roller may be configured to provide a substantial seal at the housing inlet when a substrate is delivered into the housing. The dispensing system may include a delivery device positioned between the housing inlet and housing outlet. The delivery device may be configured to supply an electrolyte to the substrate delivered into the housing. The electrolyte dispensing system may also include an outlet roller positioned proximate the housing outlet. The outlet roller may be configured to provide a substantial seal at the housing outlet when the substrate is delivered from the housing.
HIGH-STRENGTH LOW-HEAT RELEASE COMPONENTS INCLUDING A RESIN LAYER HAVING SP2 CARBON-CONTAINING MATERIAL THEREIN
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to composite laminate structures including a polymer layer having sp.sup.2 carbon-containing material and improved heat release properties, and methods of making the same.
Multilayer coverings to protect surfaces from lightning strikes
A multilayer protective covering can protect a surface from lightning strikes. The covering includes a bottom conductive layer affixed to the surface and having a first opening that is aligned with a grounding connection so that the grounding connection is exposed through first opening and not in contact with the bottom conductive layer. The covering also includes a dielectric layer affixed to the bottom conductive layer and having second opening aligned with the grounding connection so that the grounding connection is exposed through second opening and not in contact with the dielectric layer. The covering additionally includes a top conductive layer affixed to the dielectric layer and covering the grounding connection. The top conductive layer directs electrical current from a lightning strike on the surface to the grounding connection.
END OF ARM TOOL (EOAT) FOR LAYUP OF PRE-IMPREGNATED COMPOSITE LAMINATES AND ROBOTIC ARM CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
An end of arm tool (EOAT) for use during manufacture of parts using one or more pre-impregnated composite plies is disclosed. In an embodiment, the EOAT includes a mechanical gripper arrangement with first and second fingers configured to supply a compressive force to grip a pre-impregnated composite ply therebetween. At least one of the first and second fingers include a roller member to engage opposite surfaces of the pre-preg ply and supply a compressive gripping force. The roller member on either or both the first and second fingers preferably include a torque regulator to selectively adjust an associated roller member's resistance to rotation via supply of a rotational torque resistance.
Laminate nonconformance management system
A method, apparatus, and system for managing nonconformances in laminates. A nonconformance management system comprises a sensor system and an analyzer in a computer system. The sensor that records layup information about the layup of layers on a workpiece platform and records inspection information about the laminate located on an inspection platform, wherein the laminate is formed from curing the workpiece. The analyzer in the computer system identifies a laminate nonconformance in the laminate using the inspection information, generates nonconformance information about the laminate nonconformance, and displays the nonconformance information about the laminate nonconformance on the laminate using a display system for an augmented reality display.
Apertured elastic film laminates
An elastic laminate is provided including at least one gathered outer facing layer of a fabric and an apertured elastic film attached thereto. The aperture film includes a series of alternating first and second segments that extend continuously along the direction of elasticity. The first segments of the film are substantially devoid of any apertures and the second segments are strewn with apertures of irregular size and shape. The regionally limited and irregular apertures are formed by the controlled rupturing of the film within those segments. The elastic laminate has excellent air-permeability and elastic properties.
CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE LAMINATE TUBE SHEET AND METHOD FOR MAKING THE SAME
A laminate composite structure having at least one tubular region and at least one bonded region. The structure has a first composite layer, a second composite layer, a cavity, and one or more reinforcing fibers. Each composite layer comprises composite material with a top face and a bottom face opposite the top face. The top face of one is joined to the bottom face of the other along an interlaminar region. The cavity separates the bottom face and the top face to form a tube. The tube has an internal boundary defined by the bottom face and the top face. The reinforcing fibers line the internal boundary and are arranged so that the reinforcing fibers reduce the propensity of the composites layer to separate under internal pressure loading.
System and print head for additive manufacturing system
A print head is disclosed for use in an additive manufacturing system. The print head may include a receiving end configured to receive a matrix and a continuous reinforcement, and a discharging end configured to discharge the continuous reinforcement at least partially coated in the matrix. The print head may also include a compactor located at the discharging end and forming a tool center point for the print head.
