Self-healing barrier films for vacuum insulation panels
A self-healing vacuum insulation panel and a method of manufacture are provided. The vacuum insulation panel includes a self-healing, multi-layer barrier film including a separator between a curing agent and a curable resin. Upon damage to the separator, the curing agent penetrates the separator due to a pressure differential across the barrier film and reacts with the curable resin to seal any cuts or punctures. The curing agent and the curable resin can be selected to have long term stability and a short reaction time with no need for external stimuli. As a result, the multi-layer barrier film can retain the internal vacuum and maintain a desirably low thermal conductivity using low-cost, commercially available epoxies and curing agents.
Apparatus and method for fabricating laminated wood products
An apparatus for forming a laminated product by positioning a veneer onto a substrate while on a moving conveyor, including an elongate conveyor having an infeed end, a downstream outfeed end and adapted for moving successive known lengths of substrates having an upper surface carrying an adhesive along a longitudinal axis from the infeed end to the outfeed end at a known rate. At least one veneer supply source is positioned in a known location laterally offset from the longitudinal axis of the conveyor for supplying successive lengths of veneer to be applied onto a top surface of the moving lengths of substrate. A related method of operating the apparatus is disclosed.
WINDOW MANUFACTURING SYSTEM AND WINDOW MANUFACTURING METHOD USING THE SAME
A window manufacturing system includes a first processing unit in which a process of providing a dummy substrate on a stage is performed, a second processing unit in which a process of providing a dummy adhesive layer on the dummy substrate is performed, a third processing unit in which a process of providing a window layer on the dummy adhesive layer is performed, and a fourth processing unit in which a process of providing a protective cover on the window layer is performed. The fourth processing unit includes a pressurization unit which presses the protective cover to the window layer.
Methods and apparatuses for assembling elastic laminates with different bond densities for absorbent articles
The methods herein relate to assembling an elastic laminate with a first elastic material and a second elastic material bonded between first and second substrates. During assembly, an elastic laminate may be formed by positioning the first and second substrates in contact with stretched central regions of the first and second elastic materials. The elastic laminates may include two or more bonding regions that may be defined by the various layers or components of the elastic laminate that are laminated or stacked relative to each other. In some configurations, a first plurality of ultrasonic bonds are applied to the elastic laminate to define a first bond density in the first bonding region, and a second plurality of ultrasonic bonds are applied to the elastic laminate to define a second bond density in the second bonding region, wherein the second bond density is not equal to the first bond density.
Substrate bonding apparatus
According to one embodiment, there is provided a substrate bonding apparatus including a first suction stage, a second suction stage, and a pressing member. The first suction stage sucks a first substrate. The second suction stage is arranged so as to face the first substrate. The second suction stage sucks the second substrate. The pressing member is capable of deforming the first substrate sucked on the first suction stage so as to be convex toward the second suction stage side. The pressing member has a marking structure on a distal end side.
ELASTIC LAMINATES AND METHODS FOR ASSEMBLING ELASTIC LAMINATES FOR ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure relates to elastic laminates and methods for assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Elastic laminates may include one or more reinforcement layers positioned between unstretched portions of elastic materials and substrates to which the elastic materials are bonded.
Resin film for vacuum forming
Provided is a fluorine-based resin multilayer film for vacuum forming which does not cause wrinkles and the like when a three-dimensional surface decoration method is applied. The fluorine-based resin multilayer film for vacuum forming includes a front surface layer containing 60% by mass to 85% by mass of a vinylidene fluoride-based resin and 40% by mass to 15% by mass of a methacrylate ester-based resin; and a back surface layer containing 0% by mass to 50% by mass of a vinylidene fluoride-based resin and 100% by mass to 50% by mass of a methacrylate ester-based resin, wherein the thermal dimensional change in a film flow direction when heated at 120° C. for 30 minutes, which is measured based on JIS K7133, is −15% to −2%.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure relates to assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Methods herein may include an anvil adapted to rotate about an axis of rotation, wherein first and second spreader mechanisms adjacent the anvil roll are axially and angularly displaced from each other with respect to the axis of rotation. During the assembly process, a substrate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating anvil. The first spreader mechanism stretches a first elastic material in the cross direction, and the second spreader mechanism stretches a second elastic material in the cross direction. The stretched first and second elastic materials advance from the spreader mechanisms and onto the substrate on the anvil roll. The combined and elastic materials may then be ultrasonically bonded together on the anvil to form at least one elastic laminate.
Label stacking machine and method
A method of making a pad of labels comprises: printing display information on a top surface of a substrate; affixing a first layer of lamination material to a bottom surface of the substrate; affixing a second layer of lamination material to the top surface of the substrate, the second layer of lamination material having a release coating applied to a top surface thereof; applying an adhesive strip to a bottom surface of the first layer of lamination material, the adhesive strip being covered by a liner material; cutting the substrate having first and second layers of lamination material affixed into at least one label; removing the liner material to expose the adhesive strip after cutting the substrate into at least one label; and arranging the labels into a pad of labels.
