Embodiments of multilayer films are disclosed comprising a first layer comprising polyethylene, a second layer comprising a first medium density polyethylene; a barrier layer; a third layer comprising a second medium density polyethylene; and a fourth layer comprising polyethylene. The second layer may be positioned between the first layer and the barrier layer. The barrier layer may be positioned between the second layer and the third layer.

ETHYLENE COPOLYMERS PRODUCED WITH SINGLE SITE CATALYST

Embodiments of the invention described herein relate to a polyethylene polymer composition suitable for use in the manufacture of packaging articles, flexible films and/or sheets. In one embodiment, the copolymer comprises a polyethylene resin with density 0.918 g/cm.sup.3 to about 0.935 g/cm.sup.3, G′ at G″.sub.(500 Pa) value, as determined from Dynamic Mechanical Analysis at 190° C., of less than 40 Pa, M.sub.z/M.sub.w of greater than 2, CDBI.sub.50 of greater than 60. Other embodiments relate to polymer compositions with defined molecular characteristics and formulations suitable for use in the manufacture of articles including films, sheets, bags and pouches with improved creep resistance and high toughness and a good balance of film stiffness and processability in monolayer and/or multi-layer film structures.

The multi-layered porous film includes a base film, and a functional layer containing both an inorganic filler and a binder resin, the functional layer being formed on the base film, wherein a difference between a maximum basis weight and a minimum basis weight of the multi-layered porous film in a length-wise direction thereof is equal to or smaller than 2 grams/m.sup.2, the basis weight being measured every 100 meters interval. The separator fabricated by cutting a film roll comprised of a multi-layered porous film into pieces each having a given length has small lot-based fluctuation in quality, and makes it possible to fabricate a battery having a small fluctuation in quality.
