ORGAN MODEL
Provided is an organ model having a property such that each layer suitably peels off, a property such that sliding or a sense of catching is present besides a sense of elasticity that is felt when a surgical knife cuts the organ model open, and a property such that ligation can be performed without burying of a suture thread, and a property such that a knot of the thread gets caught on the organ model. An organ model being a laminated body in which plural layers each formed of a hydrogel material are laminated, and one or more of the layers is each a fiber group-containing layer in which fiber groups are approximately continuously present inside the layer and over the plane of the layer.
PAVING TILES MADE OF RUBBER MATERIALS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A paving tile is made of a first rubber material and a second rubber material that is dissimilar from the first rubber material. The first rubber material may be a recycled rubber material, such as crumb rubber granules from scrap vehicle tires. The second rubber material may be a nitrile rubber material, such as nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR). The crumb rubber material is disposed within a mold and leveled. A relatively thin layer of the NBR material is positioned onto the crumb rubber material and the crumb rubber material and the NBR material are chemically bonded without an adhesive using a compression molding process including at least one of a preselected pressure, a preselected temperature and a preselected period of time. The recycled rubber material may have a first color and the nitrile rubber material may have a second color that is different than the first color.
ELASTIC BELLOWS AND BATTERY CELL ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING SAME
A battery pack includes a battery housing and electrochemical cells disposed in the battery housing in a stacked configuration. Elastic members are disposed between adjacent cells of a cell stack. Each elastic member is a bladder that is formed of a pair of contoured plate portions stacked in a mirrored arrangement, whereby the plate portions cooperate to form a bellows-type compression spring. The elastic members provide a predetermined compression force to each cell while accommodating cell growth during use. The elastic members may include surface features such as strategically shaped and/or located protrusions that are configured to permit compliance and can be tuned to address the requirements of a specific application and permit application of varying stiffness characteristics across a surface of a cell.

MULTILAYER EXTENDABLE ACTUATOR
The present disclosure generally relates to a multilayer extendable actuator. The actuator comprises: a first stiffening elastomeric layer; a second stiffening elastomeric layer; a set of middle layers disposed between the stiffening elastomeric layers, the middle layers comprising an elastic elastomeric layer that is more elastic than the stiffening elastomeric layers; and a set of grooves through one or more of the elastomeric layers, the grooves arranged such that a cross-section of the elastomeric layers comprises a wave profile around the grooves, wherein the actuator is extendable such that the elastomeric layers along the wave profile become alternatingly arranged along the extended actuator.

A composition includes: a polythiol compound; an aliphatic (meth)acrylic compound having a plurality of at least one of an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group and being acyclic; and a radical generator, the ratio (Ac/SH) of the total molar number (Ac) of the at least one of an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group contained in the aliphatic (meth)acrylic compound to the total molar number (SH) of thiol groups contained in the polythiol compound is from 0.70 to 1.20.

A composition includes: a polythiol compound; a (meth)acrylic compound having a plurality of at least one of an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group and having a ring structure; and a radical generator, the ratio (Ac/SH) of the total molar number (Ac) of the at least one of an acryloyl group or a methacryloyl group contained in the (meth)acrylic compound to the total molar number (SH) of thiol groups contained in the polythiol compound is higher than 0.20 but lower than 0.70.

A composition which includes: a polythiol compound; a compound having a carbon-carbon double bond at a terminal of a molecule thereof; a photo radical generator; and a thermal radical generator, a ratio (Ene/SH) of a total molar number (Ene) of the carbon-carbon double bond contained in terminals of a molecule of the compound having a carbon-carbon double bond at a terminal of a molecule thereof to a total molar number (SH) of thiol groups contained in the polythiol compound being higher than 0.20 but equal to or less than 0.70.
Slip resistant shoe cover
A shoe cover is a natural latex article with reduced amount of sulfur cross linking agent and accelerators including zinc dithiocarbamate that break catalytically soluble sulfur S.sub.8 sulfur rings forming sulfur linear chains. Surfactants present in the pre-vulcanization composition wets natural polyisoprene particles and permeates small sized sulfur into the interior of these particles thereby pre-vulcanizing the particles. The latex emulsion also has post-vulcanization composition with accelerators that crosslink between particles during the post vulcanization cure cycle. The dipped natural polyisoprene article is substantially uniformly cured both in the inter-particle and intra-particle regions and reliably exhibits high cross link density, uniform distribution of double bonds and zinc segregation at the boundaries or original particles. The natural rubber films exhibit high tensile strength, tensile modulus, tear strength, elongation with low modulus of the shoe cover. The bottom surface of the shoe cover is etched to produce a slip resistant surface.
COMPOSITION FOR VULCANIZATION BONDING, COMPOSITIONS FOR VULCANIZATION-BONDED LAMINATE, AND LAMINATE OBTAINED FROM SAID COMPOSITIONS
The present invention aims to provide a composition for a vulcanization-bonded laminate in which an epichlorohydrin rubber can be strongly bonded to a fluororubber, as well as a laminate produced from the composition. It has been found that a composition for a vulcanization-bonded laminate which includes a rubber layer (A) formed from a vulcanization bonding composition at least containing an epihalohydrin rubber, a hydroxyl group-free tri- to penta-functional acrylate, an epoxy resin, nickel dibutyldithiocarbamate, and a vulcanizing agent, and a fluororubber layer (B) formed from a fluororubber composition containing at least a peroxide vulcanizing agent, and in which the rubber layer (A) and the fluororubber layer (B) are stacked can be used to produce a laminate in which the rubber layer (A) is strongly bonded to the fluororubber layer (B).
