Impregnated Cloth

A knitted spacer fabric has a tightly knitted bottom layer, a more loosely knitted upper layer and linking fibres extending across the space between the lower and upper faces. Settable material, e.g. cement, is introduced into the space between the upper and lower faces and can be caused to set by the addition of a liquid, e.g. water. Until set, the fabric is flexible and can be shaped but after the material in space has set, the fabric is rigid and can be used as a structural element in a wide range of situations. The bottom layer has an extension that extends beyond the upper face and is connected to the upper face by elastic connecting fibres that draw the extension towards the other face, thereby at least partly closing the space at the edge of the cloth and preventing the settable material from spilling out. In addition, the packing of the settable material and maximum space between the faces are such that only a predetermined amount of liquid can be accommodated within the space and that amount is matched to the water required to set the cement.

Cementitious composite mat

A cementitious composite for in-situ hydration includes a structure layer having a first side and an opposing second side, a cementitious material disposed within the structure layer, a sealing layer disposed along and coupled to the first side of the structure layer, and a containment layer disposed along the opposing second side of the structure layer. The structure layer has an intersection at the sealing layer and the containment layer that is at least partially fiberless. The cementitious material includes a plurality of cementitious particles. The containment layer is configured to prevent the plurality of cementitious particles from migrating out of the structure layer.

Building Panels, Assemblies, and Associated Methods

Building panels, assemblies of building panels, and associated methods are provided. A building panel includes a structural core, such as a set gypsum core, at least one filamentous scrim associated with the core, and a nonwoven mat facer.

Wall panel

A wall panel may have a veneer layer, a middle layer made from magnesium oxide and an insulation layer made from a two-part rigid urethane pour foam. The insulation layer maybe chemically bonded to the middle layer. The veneer layer may include a poured substrate made from polyurethane or plastic. The veneer layer may further include aesthetic elements embedded in and bonded to the poured substrate. The aesthetic elements may include one or more of brick, ceramic tile, porcelain tile, natural stone, engineered stone, wood, ceramic, plastic, or vinyl. A finished surface of the aesthetic elements may extend above a top surface of the poured substrate. The poured substrate may include sand causing the top surface of the poured substrate to have an appearance of mortar.

Wall panel

A wall panel may have a rigid layer, a first insulation layer made from a two-part rigid urethane pour foam, and a second insulation layer made from a phase change material. The first insulation layer maybe chemically bonded to the rigid layer and may also be bonded to the phase change layer. The first insulation layer may be positioned between the second insulation layer and the rigid layer. The rigid layer may be a finished surface or a veneer layer may be applied to the rigid layer.

A floor, wall, or ceiling panel and to a method for producing same. The panel has a base made of a wood material and an upper veneer. The base and the veneer are hot-pressed together while incorporating a resin layer. During the pressing process, pores, cracks, and/or gaps in the veneer are filled with resin. In particular, the pressing process is carried out such that the veneer is saturated with resin, and the resin can be seen on the surface of the veneer after the pressing process. The adhesion of the veneer to the base and the smoothing of the veneer are thus carried out in one operation.

Building board and method of forming the building board

A building board including a cementitious layer between two fiber mats. At least one fiber mat forms with a polymer film a fiber mat/polymer film laminate. The cementitious layer of the building board contains a reactive water-insoluble polymer which improves binding of the fiber mat/polymer film laminate to the cementitious layer. The building board has a low water absorption and a high level surface finish.

A cementitious composite for in-situ hydration includes a first layer, a second layer, a cementitious mixture, and an adhesive layer. The cementitious mixture is disposed along the first layer. The cementitious mixture includes a plurality of cementitious particles. The second layer is disposed along the cementitious mixture, opposite the first layer. The adhesive layer is positioned to secure at least one of (i) the first layer to the cementitious mixture, (ii) the second layer to the cementitious mixture, and (iii) the first layer and the second layer together. The first layer and the second layer are configured to at least partially prevent the plurality of cementitious particles from migrating out of the cementitious composite.
