METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A SUB-ASSEMBLY FOR A TIRE COMPRISING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL FABRIC OR KNITTED MATERIAL AND USING A SECURING ELEMENT
A method for manufacturing (S) a subassembly (3) for a tire (4) comprising the following substeps: providing an assembly comprising a supporting structure (14) comprising supporting filamentary elements linking a first structure (10) of filamentary elements and a second structure (12) of filamentary elements, aligning (S1) the first structure (10) and the second structure (12), securely fixing (S4) the first structure (10) onto the second structure (12) using a securing element (18), and cutting (S5) the assembly (1) along the securing element (18) so as to separate said securing element (18) from the rest of the assembly (1) and to obtain at least one subassembly (3) without securing element (18).
TOOTHED BELT
In a toothed belt including a toothed belt body and a reinforcing cloth, the toothed belt body includes a rubber composition and has a base part formed into a flat band shape and a plurality of rubber tooth parts, which are arranged integrally with one face of the base part and spaced apart from each other in a belt lengthwise direction. The reinforcing cloth is attached to the toothed belt body to cover a face, of the toothed belt body, with the rubber tooth parts. Each of the rubber tooth parts is covered with the reinforcing cloth in a corresponding one of cloth-covered tooth parts where a rate of a volume of the reinforcing cloth with respect to a volume of the cloth-covered tooth part is 60% or more.
Carrier with localized fibrous insert and methods
A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier will be a mass of activatable material.
Force defusing structure
A force defusing structure includes first and second plurality of spherical shaped objects. A first spherical shaped object is proximally positioned to two or more second spherical shaped objects. When a force is applied to the first spherical shaped object, the first spherical shaped object collides with the two or more second spherical shaped objects to defuse the force based on a multi-dimensional collision between the first spherical shaped object and the two or more second spherical shaped objects.
SUPPORTED ELASTOMERIC FOAMS AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING SAME
A supported elastomeric foam (100) includes an elastomeric matrix (102) formed of an elastomer and including a reinforcement region (104) and a foamed region (106). The foamed region includes gas filled cells (108) in the elastomer, and the reinforcement region includes a porous layer (204) having an interconnected network of pores at least partially imbibed with the elastomer. The foam can include an adhesive at a surface of the foam. A compressible seal (802) including a compressible body, which can be elastomeric foam, can also include a pattern of discontinuous adhesive regions about which the compressible body can deform to form a sea. The supported elastomeric foam can form a gas tight seal in an interface when placed under minimal compression.
GOLF CLUB INCLUDING COMPOSITE MATERIAL WITH COLOR COATED FIBERS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
A golf club including at least one component with a construction that includes a composite material with color/metallic coated fibers. In some embodiments, at least a portion of an outer surface of the golf club head is defined by a layered structure including color/metallic coated fibers. The layered structure may include a non-woven composite layer comprising a plurality of unidirectional fiber composite plies and woven composite layer disposed over the non-woven fiber composite layer and including color/metallic coated fibers. In some embodiments, an optically transparent coating may be disposed over the woven composite layer. In some embodiments, the color/metallic coated fibers may be electroplated fibers.
Thermally conductive sheet
Provided is a thermally conductive sheet including an oriented-graphite thermally conductive layer and an insulating thermally conductive layer stacked on the oriented-graphite thermally conductive layer, the oriented-graphite thermally conductive layer including a polymer matrix including a plate-like graphite powder, flat surfaces of particles of the plate-like graphite powder being oriented in the thickness direction of the sheet, the insulating thermally conductive layer including a polymer matrix including an insulating thermally conductive filler dispersed in the polymer matrix, the insulating thermally conductive layer having a thermal conductivity and an insulating property. The thermally conductive sheet has a high thermal conductivity and an insulating property, is capable of being readily fixed to an adherend, and is easy to handle.
TRUNCATED BEADFILM CONSTRUCTIONS AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME
Described herein is a construction comprising a microsphere layer comprising a plurality of microspheres, wherein the microspheres comprise glass, ceramic, and combinations thereof; a bead bonding layer, wherein the plurality of microspheres is partially embedded in the bead bonding layer forming a first surface comprising exposed microspheres, wherein the plurality of microspheres on the first surface are truncated. Also disclosed herein are articles comprising the construction and methods of making thereof.
SUPPORTED ELASTOMERIC FOAMS AND PROCESSES FOR MAKING SAME
