Multi-layered structure and articles formed therefrom having improved splash resistance by increased interlayer spacing
A splash resistant multi-layered structure is provided. The structure includes a specific arrangement of layers of material and a plurality of three-dimensional spacers that helps prevent penetration through the structure by a fluid that contacts an outer surface of the structure due to a state of forced separation that exists between two adjacent layers of the structure due to the presence of the plurality of three-dimensional spacers positioned between the layers. The plurality of three-dimensional spacers can be positioned on one of the adjacent layers of the structure such that a distance at least as large as the maximum height of the plurality of three-dimensional spacers separates the two layers from each other and can be present on a layer of material in a continuous or discontinuous pattern or can be present on a layer of material in a random fashion. The presence of the three-dimensional spacers can reduce the basis weight or eliminate one or more layers of the structure, which, in turn, can reduce thermal resistance, lower the pressure drop across the layers of the structure, and reduce the overall weight of the structure to enhance breathability and comfort.
Powder, thermoplastic composition, and method for producing three-dimensional object
A powder contains particles containing a water-soluble material and a water-insoluble material. When dependence on temperature of a storage elastic modulus and a loss elastic modulus of a cylindrical compact of the powder in a shear direction, the cylindrical compact having a diameter of 10 mm and a thickness of 1 mm, is measured with a rotational rheometer at an angular frequency of 1 Hz and a rate of temperature increase of 2 C./min, letting a temperature at which the storage elastic modulus is 1 MPa be T C., the storage elastic modulus is always higher than the loss elastic modulus in a temperature range of T C. to (T+10) C.
BUILDING MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING BUILDING MATERIAL
[Object] To provide a building material having excellent durability.
[Solution] A building material has a convex part formed on a surface thereof, the convex part including a first lateral surface part and a second lateral surface part corresponding to the first lateral surface part. The building material is formed from a mixture containing a hydraulic material, an admixture, and a plant-based reinforcing material, and the plant-based reinforcing material at least in the convex part is distributed in the mixture with the hydraulic material and the admixture attached to the plant-based reinforcing material. A distribution of the plant-based reinforcing material in the first lateral surface part and a distribution of the plant-based reinforcing material in the second lateral surface part are substantially the same. Desirably, the convex part includes a first edge part that is an edge part of the first lateral surface part and a second edge part that is an edge part of the second lateral surface part and that corresponds to the first edge part, and a distribution of holes formed in the first edge part and a distribution of holes formed in the second edge part are substantially the same.
Cementitious Panels with Swellable Materials and Methods of Providing a Moisture or Water Barrier in Cementitious Panels Using Swellable Materials
Provided are cementitious panel that include a swellable material within a core layer, a dense layer, and/or a sheet of facing material that make up a cementitious panel, as well as methods of manufacturing such cementitious panels that include a swellable material and methods of providing a moisture or water barrier in a cementitious panel.
Disposable Surgical Gown
A disposable surgical gown is provided. The gown includes a front panel and sleeves formed from a first spunbond layer, a nonwoven (e.g., SMS) laminate, and a liquid impervious, moisture vapor breathable elastic film disposed therebetween. The gown also includes a first and second rear panels formed from a nonwoven laminate that is air breathable and allows for an air volumetric flow rate ranging from about 20 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) to about 80 scfm. The gown further includes a collar formed from an air breathable knit material positioned adjacent a proximal end of the gown. The collar defines a neck opening having a v-neck shape adjacent the front panel. The v-neck shape forms an angle of greater than 90 at the neck opening. The combination of features results in a reduced-glare gown that is stretchable and impervious to liquids, yet can still dissipate heat and humidity.
Super absorbing composite material, form factors created therefrom, and methods of production
Super absorbent material used for drying that integrates super absorbent non-woven fibrous mats with other material, as for example wicking material, are described. The fibrous mats consist of polymeric material embedded with particles of super absorbent polymer. The wicking material may be lightweight knitted fabric that actively absorbs and wicks liquid across the fabric surface. The materials are fabricated as single layer or multiple layers and demonstrate a variety of form factors suitable to the intended use. The super absorbent materials may incorporate additional functionalities, such as antifungal or antibacterial, for biomedical uses.

Veneered element and method of producing such a veneered element
A method for the generation of a gas mixture comprising carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and optionally hydrogen for use in hydroformylation plants or in carbonylation plants, including mixing an optional steam with carbon dioxide in the desired molar ratio, feeding the resulting gas to a solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) or an SOEC stack at a sufficient temperature for the cell or cell stack to operate while effecting a partial conversion of carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide and optionally of steam to hydrogen, removing some or all the remaining steam from the raw product gas stream by cooling the raw product gas stream and separating the remaining product gas from a liquid, and using said gas mixture containing CO and CO.sub.2 for liquid phase synthesis reactions utilizing carbon monoxide as one of the reactants while recycling CO.sub.2 to the SOEC or SOEC stack.
