There are also provided films made using these air and water barrier articles and building envelopes made using such films.
Polymeric sandwich structure having enhanced thermal conductivity and method of manufacturing the same
A polymeric sandwich structure having enhanced thermal conductivity includes a first layer formed from a first polymer matrix and including a first fiber reinforcing sheet embedded within the first polymer matrix, a second layer formed from a second polymer matrix and including a second fiber reinforcing sheet embedded within the second polymer matrix, and a third layer disposed between the first and second layers, the third layer formed from a third polymer matrix having graphene nanoplatelets interspersed therein. Each of the first and second fiber reinforcing sheets is made of reinforcing fibers and includes a respective set of staggered discontinuous perforations formed therein, wherein each respective set of staggered discontinuous perforations defines a respective first plurality of reinforcing fibers having a respective first length and a respective second plurality of reinforcing fibers having a respective second length longer than the respective first length.
Thermoplastic bags with complex stretch patterns
A thermoplastic film which exhibits elastic-like behavior along at least one axis when stretched or elongated and then released. The thermoplastic film comprises a plurality of raised rib-like elements extending in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the thermoplastic film. The thermoplastic film further includes a plurality of web areas positioned about the plurality of raised rib-like elements. The plurality of raised rib-like elements and plurality of web areas are arranged in a complex pattern. The complex pattern provides visual and tactile cues as the films are stretched or elongated. The complex pattern can cause the thermoplastic film to have a complex stretch profile.
Low shrinkage low oligomer polyester film and method for manufacturing the same
A low shrinkage low oligomer polyester film and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The method includes forming at least one polyester composition into an unstretched polyester thick film and stretching the unstretched polyester thick film in a machine direction (MD) and a transverse direction (TD) at a stretch ratio of two to six times. The polyester composition includes 94% to 99.974% by weight of a polyester resin, 0.01% to 1% by weight of a primary antioxidant, 0.01% to 1% by weight of a secondary antioxidant, 0.003% to 2% by weight of a nucleating agent, and 0.003% to 2% by weight of a flow aid. The polyester resin has an intrinsic viscosity between 0.60 dl/g and 0.80 dl/g.
Polyamide-based composite film and display device comprising the same
The embodiments relate to a polyamide-based composite film that has excellent curl characteristics, mechanical properties, and optical properties, as well as, in particular, is effective in preventing reflection in the visible light region, remarkably reduces the rainbow phenomenon, and achieves a texture similar to that of glass, and a display device comprising the same. There are provided a polyamide-based composite film, which comprises a base film comprising a polyamide-based polymer; and a functional layer disposed on the base film, wherein the in-plane retardation (Re) measured with light having a wavelength of 550 nm is 100 nm to 220 nm, and a display device comprising the same.
CLADDING PANEL
A panel for covering a substrate including: a body having a first connecting profile and a second connecting profile, and a mesh, the first connecting profile and the second connecting profile being complementarily shaped in such a way that adjacent panels are coupled to one another via the first connecting profile and the second connecting profile, each of the first connecting profile and the second connecting profile comprising a pocket and a flange, the pocket of the first connecting profile being shaped for receiving the flange of the second connecting profile and the pocket of the second connecting profile being shaped for receiving the flange of the first connecting profile, wherein the mesh overhangs both the pocket of the first connecting profile and the pocket of the second connecting profile, said mesh overhangs configured for attachment of the panel to the substrate.
Roofing shingles, tiles and shakes
The present disclosure relates generally to roofing elements and methods for making them. In one embodiment, the disclosure provides a roofing element in the form of a roofing shingle that includes a body of a foamed cured cross-linked polymer, the body having a top surface and a bottom surface, the body extending substantially in a plane and having a thickness in the range of 0.5 mm to 35 mm; and a layer of weather-resistant roofing granules disposed on and adhered at the top surface of roofing element. The roofing element can be made by providing a body of wet foamed curable composition, and allowing the curable composition to cure to provide the body of foamed cured cross-linked polymer.
