CO-EXTRUDED, BIAXIALLY ORIENTED, MATTE, HDPE FILMS
Disclosed are compositions and methods for multilayer films, which, in one embodiment may comprise a core layer comprising at least 50 wt. % of high-density polyethylene. Further, the multilayer film may include a first skin layer comprising, consisting essentially of, or consisting of low-density polyethylene, optionally linear, and at least about 80 wt. % of high-density polyethylene, as well as a second skin layer comprising either: (i) one or more low-density polyethylenes, any or all of them optionally being linear; or (ii) one or more polypropylene-based copolymers. The multilayer film may be oriented in at least one direction.
Depth-Independent Blast-Resistant Thermally-Insulating Ballistically-Protective and Ergonomically-Improved Segmented Diver Suit
A segmented diving suit includes a base layer and a plurality of composite plates arranged on the base layer in a configuration designed to avoid joints or other anatomical features that bend. The composite plates include a spheres or microspheres dispersed/embedded in a carrier polymer. The spheres or microspheres provide one or more of thermal protection, sonic/blast resistance, and ballistic protection.
MULTILAYER COMPOSITE WITH THERMAL BARRIER PROPERTIES
The present disclosure relates to a multilayer composite that may include a multilayer composite that may include a first barrier layer and a first foam layer. The first foam layer may include a silicone-based matrix component, a flame retardant filler component, and an insulation filler component. The multilayer component may have a thickness of at least about 0.5 mm and no greater than about 10 mm. The multilayer component may also have a HBF flammability rating as measured according to ASTM D4986.
AN ACOUSTIC DAMPING MATERIAL COMPRISING RENEWABLE RAW MATERIALS
An acoustic damping material includes a binder matrix which includes a bitumen component or a polymer component, and a filler component that includes at least one solid particulate cellulose-containing filler. The acoustic damping material is suitable for use in damping of undesired vibrations and noise in mechanical structures and components of manufactured articles. The acoustic damping material may be applied to damping of vibrations and noise in transportation vehicles and white goods, to a vibration and noise damping element including a damping layer composed of the acoustic damping material, to a method for applying a vibration and noise damping element to a noise emitting surface of a substrate, and to a vibration damped system comprising a substrate and the vibration and noise damping element bonded to a noise emitting surface of the substrate.
Method of pouring polyisocyanurate foam directly onto a facer to improve cell orientation and density stratification
A method of forming a polyisocyanurate foam board includes providing a polyol and adding an isocyanate to the polyol to form a polyisocyanurate foam. A first inner surface of a first facer material is treated with a first flow of hydroxyl containing molecules. A second inner surface of a second facer material is treated with a second flow of hydroxyl containing molecules. The polyisocyanurate foam is coupled to the first treated inner surface and the second treated inner surface such that the polyisocyanurate is sandwiched between the first facer material and the second facer material, thereby exposing opposing outer surfaces of the polyisocyanurate foam to the hydroxyl containing molecules. A density of a medial portion of the polyisocyanurate foam is greater than a density of the polyisocyanurate at the opposing outer surfaces.
Foam sheet
Provided is a foam sheet that can raise an electrostatic capacitance at the time of compression, and hence can improve sensitivity when used for an electrostatic capacitance sensor. The foam sheet includes: a foam layer; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer arranged on at least one side of the foam layer, wherein the foam sheet has a dielectric constant increase amount Q-P at 10% compression of 0.2 (F/m) or more, where P (F/m) represents a dielectric constant of the foam sheet immediately after the foam sheet has been left at rest under conditions of a temperature of 23° C. and a humidity of 50% for 2 hours, and Q (F/m) represents a dielectric constant of the foam sheet at a time when the foam sheet is compressed by 10% immediately after being left at rest under the conditions of a temperature of 23° C. and a humidity of 50% for 2 hours.
COMPOSITE MATERIAL VEHICLE CARGO COMPARTMENT CONSTRUCT
A vehicle cargo construct including a floor, a plurality of side wall panels extending from the floor, and an end wall panel extending from the floor between the plurality of side wall panels. The floor has an exterior surface and an oppositely opposed interior surface. Each of the plurality of side wall panels has an exterior surface and an oppositely opposed interior surface. The has an exterior surface and an oppositely opposed interior surface. Each of the floor, the plurality of side wall panels, and the end wall panel are formed of a composite sandwich panel material formed including an open area core defining a plurality of pores disposed between a backing sheet and a surface sheet formed of a sheet molding composition (SMC) reinforced with unidirectional fibers.
CONTAINER CONSISTING OF A RIGID OUTER CONTAINER AND A DEFORMABLE INNER BAG, AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING SUCH A CONTAINER
The method for producing a container consisting of a rigid outer container and a deformable inner bag. A first screw conveyor supplies a first thermoplastic plastics material for the outer container and at least a second and a third screw conveyor supplies at least a second and a third thermoplastic plastics material for the inner bag to an extruder which coextrudes a parison consisting of at least the first, second and third layers. The parison is inflated by a pressure medium to bring it into contact with the wall of the blow mould, where excess material below the welded seam is cut off and the container is removed from the blow mould. The second thermoplastic plastics material forming the outer layer of the inner bag consists of a material which, in the hardened state, has a rough surface having microscopically small elevations and depressions.
ANTIMICROBIAL MULTILAYER FILM
A multilayer film containing up to 15 wt % of a blend of cis-13-docosenamide and at least one primary antimicrobial material on or in an exterior layer of the film. The blend of cis-13-docosenamide and at least one primary antimicrobial material is either extruded as part of the surface layer of the film or coated onto the surface of the film.
