Pulsed electromagnetic emission device
A pulsed electromagnetic emission device is provided, which is configured to be placed in adherence with at least a part of the body of a user, including at least a first emitter configured to emit at least one pulsed magnetic field and at least a second emitter configured to generate at least one luminous signal, wherein the second emitter is at least partly immersed in the pulsed magnetic field when the first emitter emits the pulsed magnetic field.
System and method for delivering sensory stimulation to a user based on a sleep architecture model
The present disclosure pertains to a system and method for providing sensory stimulation (e.g., tones and/or other sensory stimulation) during sleep. The delivery of the sensory stimulation is timed based on a combination of output from a trained time dependent sleep stage model and output from minimally obtrusive sleep monitoring devices (e.g. actigraphy devices, radar devices, video actigraphy devices, an under mattress sensor, etc.). The present disclosure describes determining whether a user is in deep sleep based on this information and delivering sensory stimulation responsive to the user being in deep sleep. In some embodiments, the system comprises one or more sensory stimulators, one or more hardware processors, and/or other components.
SELF-OPERATING BELT
A method of treating tissue of a patient uses a device including a mother case, a belt, at least one treatment unit and at least two applicators. The treatment method may include attaching first and second applicators to the belt at a working distance to the patient's surface, and providing different treatment energy to the first applicator and the second applicator. A treatment pattern is created by the applicators providing the different treatment energies. The hardware pattern or positions of the applicators on the belt may be changed before and/or during the treatment. The hardware pattern may be based on selected treatment effect and body part.
VENTILATION MACHINE AND METHOD OF VENTILATING A PATIENT
A ventilation machine is disclosed that includes a conduit interface configured to be connected to a respiratory system of a human or animal patient, an air flow generator configured to deliver air through the conduit interface into the respiratory system of the patient, a processing unit in communication with the air flow generator and configured to control the airflow generator to deliver air into the respiratory system of the patient according to a breathing scheme, and an induction device for activating a diaphragm of the patient. The induction device is in communication with the processing unit. The processing unit is configured to control the induction device to activate the diaphragm in coordination with the breathing scheme.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR NEUROSTIMULATION
Systems, devices, and methods for neurostimulation via vestibular stimulation are described. One example is a device for administering thermal stimulation to an ear canal of a subject. The device may include an earpiece configured to be at least partially insertable into the ear canal of the subject; a thermoelectric device thermally coupled to the earpiece and configured to heat and/or cool the earpiece to thereby heat and/or cool the ear canal of the subject; and a controller configured to administer a selected treatment plan including administering a caloric vestibular stimulation (CVS) stimulus to the ear canal of the subject in a condition-treatment effective amount during a first treatment interval. The treatment plan may be effective to produce a durable improvement in at least one symptom of the condition for a time of at least 1 week following cessation of the administering.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR TREATING CANCER CELLS WITH ALTERNATING POLARITY MAGNETIC FIELDS
Systems and method for destroying or inhibiting cancer cells and other rapidly-dividing cells include applying AP magnetic fields having a defined frequency of 5 Hz-500 kHz and a field strength of 0.1-5000 μT to a target body area that includes the cancer or other rapidly-dividing cells, and modifying the cancer or tumor microenvironment to increase the presence of cancer-suppressive cells or decrease the presence of cancer-promoting cells. In various embodiments, the systems and methods may include adjusting the therapy based on ultrasound imaging of the cancer cells during the application of the AP magnetic fields or during a cessation of applying the AP magnetic fields.
MULTI-MODAL SYNCHRONIZATION THERAPY
The invention provides methods for treating a neurological disorder or deficit, such as tinnitus and phantom limb pain.
Non-Invasive Treatment of Parkinson's Disease
Methods and devices are disclosed for the non-invasive treatment of Parkinson's disease through the delivery of energy to target nervous tissue, particularly the vagus nerve. The methods and devices transmit an electrical impulse transcutaneously through an outer skin surface of the patient to modulate activity of the vagus nerve to treat one or more symptoms of Parkinson's disease. This modulation may inhibit neuroinflammation and/or increase levels of at least one neurotrophic factor to promote the survival of dopamine producing cells in patients suffering from the conditions of Parkinson's disease.
ELECTROMAGNETIC AND PHOTOBIOMODULATION DEVICES FOR TREATING EYE DISORDERS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME
The present disclosure relates to devices for treating eye disorders, such as macular degeneration, with electromagnetic pulses and/or photobiomodulation. Examples of the devices, include wearable, portable, or mobile devices, which include a light source and a pulsed electromagnetic field emitter that are connected to or capable of connecting to a frame, such as an eye wear. Benefits of the devices disclosed herein can include a device for treating eye disorders, which can be self-administered by a patient or subject at home, at work, or during travel.
THERMALLY ASSISTED PULSED ELECTRO-MAGNETIC FIELD STIMULATION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TREATMENT OF OSTEOARTHRITIS OF THE KNEE
A method, apparatus and a system for thermally-assisted pulsed electromagnetic field stimulation for treatment of osteoarthritis in the knee are disclosed. A multi-coil applicator is adapted for positioning around the knee. A first coil is positioned on the top of the knee and provides electric field stimulation in the plane of the patella to stimulate the patella cartilage. Second and third coils are rectangular coils wrapped up below and above the knee respectively. The coils in the wrapped position generate a magnetic field along the knee axis and provide high amplitude of the electric field stimulation of the femoral and tibial cartilages in the plane of tibial plateau. Resistive heaters and free wheel diodes can be provided to the applicator to supply uniform thermal stimulation around the knee joint.
