A thermal control system with new phase change material (PCM) formulations that are able to maintain the system interior in a temperature range of, for example, −15 to −40° C., for a tunable working period from several hours to approximately half a day, is provided. The composition includes the inorganic and organic materials. The inorganic materials include the inorganic salts and various functional additives; while the organic materials include fatty acids, hydrocarbons and various nanostructures.

A universal barrier system includes universal barrier components that may be assembled together to shield floors and walls from moisture and provide a thermal break in an operational area of the universal barrier component. A lap zone of the universal barrier component may allow universal barrier components to be assembled and installed to protect floors, walls, ceilings, footings and the like from moisture and heat gain or loss by minimizing the need for tapes and other joining methods. The universal barrier system may also act as a sound deadening material. The operational area and lap zone of the universal barrier component may be disposed on a vapor block layer to provide some rigidity. The operational area of the universal barrier component may include a thermal break disposed upon the vapor block layer. The thermal break may include an outer protective layer. In addition, universal barrier tape and universal barrier edging may be provided to couple adjoining universal barrier components.

The present disclosure relates to custom additively manufactured core structures and the manufacture thereof In one aspect, a panel for use in a transport structure includes first and second face sheets, and an additively manufactured (AM) core affixed between the first and second face sheets. The AM core is foldable such that at least one portion of the AM core is movable between a folded position and an unfolded position. In another aspect of the disclosure, a method for producing a panel for use in a transport structure includes additively manufacturing a core is disclosed.

A photovoltaic module includes at least one solar cell, an encapsulant encapsulating the at least one solar cell, a frontsheet juxtaposed with the encapsulant, and backsheet juxtaposed with the encapsulant. The frontsheet includes a glass layer, a polymer layer attached to the glass layer, and an adhesive layer attaching the polymer layer to the glass layer. A composite fabric includes a lining layer and a metallized membrane. The metallized membrane includes a polymer layer having polyurethane and nano/micro metal particles embedded in the polymer layer. An unbonded flexible pipe with a length and bore and an offshore installation are disclosed. The pipe comprises an internal pressure sheath, at least one metallic armouring layer surrounding the internal pressure sheath and at least one additional layer surrounding the metallic armouring layer. The metallic armouring layer comprises helically wound armouring elements which are at least partly covered by a viscous fluid having a kinematic viscosity of at least about 1000 cSt (ASTM D445 or ASTM D2170). The at least one additional layer surrounding the metallic armouring layer provides a gas escape route radially outwards from the metallic armouring layer beyond an outermost layer of the least one additional layer or to a lengthwise gas escape path in or between the at least one additional layer.
