APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TARGETED DRUG DELIVERY
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for targeted drug delivery by use of a drug substance comprising a drug and magnetic particles. The apparatus comprises selection means for generating a magnetic selection field (50) having a pattern in space of its magnetic field strength such that a first sub-zone (52) having a low magnetic field strength where the magnetization of the magnetic particles is not saturated and a second sub-zone having a higher magnetic field strength where the magnetization of the magnetic particles is saturated are formed in a field of view (28), drive means for changing the position in space of the two sub-zones (52, 54) in the field of view (28) by means of a magnetic drive field so that the magnetization of the magnetic particles changes locally, and a control unit (150) for controlling said drive means to change the position in space of the two sub-zones (52, 54) such that after administration of the drug substance the first sub-zone (52) is moved through a surrounding area (320) arranged around a target area (310) except through the target area (310) itself, said surrounding area (320) representing a potentially affected volume and/or having a predetermined maximal distance from said target area (310).

Devices and methods for magnetic stimulation for the treatment of neurological disorders
Described herein are magnetic neural stimulation systems for the treatment of neurological disorders. One variation of a magnetic neural stimulation system includes magnetic stimulators shaped as helical or ramped coils, where each turn of the coil has an acute turning angle of less than 90 degrees. Also described herein are magnetic neural stimulation systems that include an array of stimulators and one or more shielding components. The shielding components modulate the density profile of the induced eddy currents to increase stimulation to targeted neural tissue regions while decreasing stimulation to non-targeted neural regions. Other variations of magnetic stimulation systems include one or more stimulators and a shield in which some of the induced eddy currents in the shield may act to attenuate the magnetic field in certain regions of the shield.
Method and apparatus for transdermal stimulation over the palmar and plantar surfaces
The disclosure describes devices and methods for providing transdermal electrical stimulation therapy to a subject including positioning a stimulator electrode over a glabrous skin surface overlying a palm of the subject and delivering electrical stimulation via a pulse generator transdermally through the glabrous skin surface and to a target nerve or tissue within the hand to stimulate the target nerve or tissue within the hand so that pain felt by the subject is mitigated. The pulses generated during the electrical stimulation therapy may include pulses of two different magnitudes.

A multi-functional airbag comprises a main body, a front side of the main body is provided with an opening, a rear side of the main body opposite to the opening is provided with a functional cavity to install a functional assembly, a left air chamber and a right air chamber communicated with each other are symmetrically configured at two sides of the main body, and the functional assembly is installed in the functional cavity. An apparatus and method for accelerating and/or inhibiting the migration of cells by applying a time-varying magnetic field to induce eddy currents that promote electrotaxis (galvanotaxis) of cells without the need for chemokines or glucose. The present invention can also be used to study and quantify the metastatic potential of different cell lines.
Methods and devices for aesthetic treatment of biological structures by radiofrequency and magnetic energy
A device for providing a magnetic treatment by evoking muscle contraction by a time-varying magnetic field and providing a RF treatment by heating biological structure. The device includes an applicator having an RF electrode and a magnetic field generating device. The device may also include a main unit, a human machine interface, and a control unit. The control unit adjusts a signal provided to the RF electrode and controls an RF circuit, and also adjusts the signal provided to the magnetic field generating device and controls a magnetic circuit electrically insulated from the RF circuit. The RF circuit may include a power source and a power amplifier, and the magnetic circuit may include an energy storage device to supply the magnetic field generating device with electric current.
System and method for alleviating sleep apnea
A system and method for controlling a device to alleviate sleep apnea comprises determining whether a user of the device is asleep by a microcontroller operatively connected to the device. Using a sensor operatively connected to the microcontroller, it is determined whether a breathing anomaly of the user is detected while the user is asleep. An electromagnet operatively connected to the device generates an electromagnetic field to widen an airway of the user in response to detecting the breathing anomaly while the user is asleep.
