A method for fabricating emulated wood with pores and fibers, comprising: immersing a plurality of synthetic fibers configured parallel in a plane into a resin so that the resin is coated on the surfaces of the plurality of synthetic fibers and in the gaps between the plurality of synthetic fibers; placing the plurality of synthetic fibers between two sheets, wherein the two sheets are planar sheets made from a uniform composition comprising a thermoplastic elastomer, a foaming agent, and a crosslinking agent; carrying out a heat-press process on the two sheets so that the foaming agent undergoes microcellular foaming and forms dense closed pores in the two sheets, and so that the composition on inner surfaces of the two sheets expands towards the plurality of synthetic fibers and penetrates through the gaps between the plurality of synthetic fibers; and cooling the two sheets to yield an emulated wood board.

METHOD OF POURING POLYISOCYANURATE FOAM DIRECTLY ONTO A FACER TO IMPROVE CELL ORIENTATION AND DENSITY STRATIFICATION
20190292773 · 2019-09-26 ·

A method of forming a polyisocyanurate foam board includes providing a polyol and adding an isocyanate to the polyol to form a polyisocyanurate foam. A first inner surface of a first facer material is treated with a first flow of hydroxyl containing molecules. A second inner surface of a second facer material is treated with a second flow of hydroxyl containing molecules. The polyisocyanurate foam is coupled to the first treated inner surface and the second treated inner surface such that the polyisocyanurate is sandwiched between the first facer material and the second facer material, thereby exposing opposing outer surfaces of the polyisocyanurate foam to the hydroxyl containing molecules. A density of a medial portion of the polyisocyanurate foam is greater than a density of the polyisocyanurate at the opposing outer surfaces.

FOAM AND SKINNED GASKETS AND TAPE WITH FLAME RETARDANT, SMOKE DENSITY AND TOXICITY LIMITS

Applicant discloses multiple embodiments of a non-adhesive cured two-part polymer sealant for use on aircraft parts. In some embodiments, the sealant comprises only a carrier and a cured polymer gel. In some embodiments, the carrier of the sealant is at least partially open cell foam, which at least partially absorbs a cured polymer gel, and which sealant has beneficial properties, including low smoke density, non-toxicity when burned, and flame retardant properties. In some embodiments, the sealant comprises a skin on an outer surface thereof, which skin may be impermeable or semi-permeable to the passage of liquids and or polymer gels. In some embodiments, the sealant is breathable but moisture-proof.
