Provided herein is the identification of markers associated with THCV, THCVA, CBDV, CBDVA, CBGV, or CBGVA production in Cannabis plants and their use in selecting Cannabis plants having modified THCV, THCVA, CBDV, CBDVA, CBGV, or CBGVA activity. The markers are useful for breeding plants having modified varin activity, including elevated THCV levels, by obtaining nucleic acids, detecting one or more markers that indicate modified varin activity, and establishing plant lines having such characteristics.

Systems and methods of seed production plant counting using aerial images
11696542 · 2023-07-11 · ·

Techniques are described for generating population counts for seed production plants based on one or more images obtained from a camera on an aerial vehicle including, but not limited to, UAVs. The image(s) is processed to identify the plurality of rows of seed production plants, classify each one of the identified rows as either male or female, and produce a count of the number of seed production plants in the male rows and produce a count of the number of seed production plants in the female rows. The seed production plants can be corn seed plants or any other type of seed production plant in which male and female seed production plants can be distinguished from one another based on one or more aerial images.

The present invention provides a novel squash plant having an especially small seed cavity, and a method for producing the squash plant. The present invention provides a method for producing a small seed cavity squash plant that includes developing, from the progeny of an F1 seed obtained by crossing a Cucurbita maxima and a Cucurbita moschata, a small seed cavity squash plant in which the proportion of the volume of the seed cavity relative to the fruit volume is 15% or less, and also provides a small seed cavity squash plant that is a small seed cavity Cucurbita maxima plant having, within the nuclear genome, a gene associated with a small seed cavity trait of a plant of the genus Cucurbita, or a hybrid plant obtained using the small seed cavity Cucurbita maxima plant as a parent, or a progeny of either of these plants.

Bremia lactucae resistant plants

The invention relates to a lettuce plant (Lactuca sativa L.) which may comprise a resistance allele which confers a broad spectrum resistance to Bremia lactucae, wherein the resistance allele is located on linkage group 9, and which resistance allele is as found in the genome of plants grown from seeds of which a representative sample was deposited under accession number NCIMB 42141. The invention further provides seeds, progeny, propagation material and food products from the plant.
