20180272673 · 2018-09-27 ·

The present invention provides a laminate material having a polyester film and a web of polyester fibers cohesively bonded directly thereto, such that portions of the fibers are bonded to the polyester film and portions of the fibers are free from the polyester film. The invention may also include a glass reinforced polymer layer formed on the laminated facer where the polymer of the glass reinforced polymer layer is commingled with the nonwoven of the laminated facer. The laminate may further include a second polymer layer having a thickness joined to the fiber layer and/or a layer of hot melt adhesive applied to the polyester fibers. Also presented is a composite material having a polyester film, a layer of polyester fibers bonded to the second polymer layer; a second polymer layer joined to the polyester film; and a glass reinforced polymer layer formed on the laminated facer, where the polymer of the glass reinforced polymer layer is commingled with the nonwoven of the laminated facer.

Tape, article including tape and composite layer, and related methods

The tape incudes a water vapor-permeable air and water barrier article and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer. The air and water barrier article includes a fibrous layer having first and second major surfaces and a polymeric layer on a first major surface of the fibrous layer that penetrates into the fibrous layer but leaves at least some fibers exposed on the second major surface. The pressure sensitive adhesive layer is on the polymeric layer of the air and water barrier article. The tape can retain greater than 50 percent by weight of mortar applied according to the Vertical Mortar Receptivity Evaluation. The article includes a substrate, the tape, and a composite layer comprising at least one of gypsum, lime, or cement. The composite layer is at least one of dried or cured on the second major surface of the fibrous layer. Methods of making the article are also described.

Retroreflective article comprising locally-laminated reflective layers

A retroreflective article including a binder layer and a plurality of retroreflective elements. Each retroreflective element includes a transparent microsphere partially embedded in the binder layer. At least some of the retroreflective elements include a reflective layer that is a locally-laminated reflective layer that is embedded between the transparent microsphere and the binder layer. At least some of the locally-laminated reflective layers may be localized reflective layers.

FOAMED RESIN INSULATION MATERIAL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

Provided are a foamed resin insulation material and a method for manufacturing the foamed resin insulation material that can reduce difference in a linear expansion coefficient between a metal and the foamed resin insulation material, reduce generation of thermal stress in the foamed resin insulation material as much as possible, and can prevent crack formation. The foamed resin insulation material is formed of a resin foam-molded body obtained by foam-molding an unfoamed resin material mixed with a negative thermal expansion material having a volume that is contracted when a temperature rises and is expanded when a temperature falls. Fiber sheets each composed of intersecting warp yarns and weft yarns are integrated with the resin foam-molded body at inner and outer faces.
