Quasi-isotropic reinforced sheet material and production method thereof

A quasi-isotropic reinforced sheet material T formed by integrating a plurality of chopped semi prepreg sheet materials C including a reinforced fiber material and a thermoplastic resin material set in an unimpregnated state such that fiber directions of the reinforced fiber materials are oriented randomly in the two-dimensional direction. The average number of fibers in a thickness direction for materials C ranges is from two to ten and a thickness “t”, relative to the thickness (t.sub.p) in an impregnated state, is in a range of t.sub.p<t≤2×t.sub.p. A layered body M is obtained by bonding and integrating the materials C in a state where fiber directions of the reinforced fiber materials are oriented randomly in a two-dimensional direction and the materials C overlap such that the average number of the materials C in the thickness direction is set in a range from two to ten.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A FIRE-RETARDANT TREATED WOOD COMPOSITE PANEL

Methods of manufacturing a fire-retardant treated OSB to avoid press build-up issues with prior art fire retardants such as boric acid when subjected to normal heat and pressure used in forming an OSB panel. In one embodiment, the press temperature is reduced to below the melting point or softening temperature of the boric acid and/or prior art fire retardants, with a fast-cure adhesive system used in the mat to provide sufficient bonding and integrity while using a lower press temperature. Alternatively, a zinc borate or calcium borate dispersion, with melting points higher than normal press temperatures, is applied to the wood strands prior to pressing. The zinc borate and/or calcium borate are not melted or softened during the OSB manufacturing process, thereby avoiding the press build-up issues with boric acid.

Floor Mat with Hidden Base Component

This invention relates to a washable multi-component magnetic floor mat with a hidden base component. The floor mat contains a textile component and a base component. The textile component and the base component are attached to one another by magnetic attraction. The magnetic attraction is provided by incorporation of magnetic particles in both the textile and base components. The textile component is designed to be soiled, washed, and re-used, thereby providing ideal end-use applications in areas such as building entryways. The present invention eliminates the need to wash the base component of the floor mat which results in environmental, cost and labor conservation. Alignment and deployment of the textile component with the base component in an efficient manner is also described herein.

This novel nanoporous filter advantageously combines extremely high transmittance for visible light and ultraviolet light, reusability after cleaning or disinfection by ultraviolet irradiation or simple washing, a customizable sieving pore size ranging from a few nanometers to 500 nanometers, and the ability to carry bactericidal, virucidal or other reagents or particles on the nano or micro scale.

Polymer composite building product and method of fabrication

A building product for application to the exterior of a building. The front face of the product utilizes a first fiber sheet partially embedded within a thermoset polymer coating resin. A foamed closed cell admixture composition core with an inorganic filler overlays the thermoset polymer coating resin with the embedded fiber sheet. The admixture composition infiltrates and bonds to the portion of the fiber sheet that is not embedded within the thermoset polymer coating resin mechanically bonding to the thermoset polymer coating. A second fiber sheet overlays the admixture core and the admixture and second fiber sheet form the rear surface of the building product that is mounted adjacent the building surface.
