There is described a method of creating a transparent polymer window (W) with a field of lenses (L) in a security paper substrate (1), the method comprising the steps of (i) providing a security paper substrate (1), (ii) forming an opening (10) into the security paper substrate (1), (iii) laminating a transparent film (5; 5*) onto a first side (I) of the security paper substrate (1) in such a way as to close the opening (10) at one end, and (iv) filling the opening (10) with transparent polymer material (2). In one embodiment, the transparent film (5) comprises a field of lenses (L) and is laminated onto the first side (I) of the security paper substrate (1) in such a way as to form lenses (L) on the first side (I) of the security paper substrate (1) in register with the opening (10). In another embodiment, the field of lenses (L) is replicated into the transparent polymer material (2) applied in the opening (10) in such a way as to form lenses (L) on a second side (II) of the security paper substrate (1), opposite to the first side (I), in register with the opening (10). Also described is a device designed to fill the opening (10) formed into the security paper substrate (1) with the transparent polymer material (2) and a processing machine comprising the same.

An inner layer, which comprises at least a first thermoplastic inner layer ply of a polymer material with a third softening temperature, is arranged between the first covering layer and the second covering layer. The inner layer at least partially surrounds the carrier layer in a material-bonding manner. The third softening temperature is lower than the first softening temperature and lower than the second softening temperature.

An object of the present invention is to provide a thin volume hologram sheet to be embedded sufficiently resistant to a mechanical stress such as a stress including a tensile stress, a shear stress and a compression stress at the time of processing even under a heating condition, a forgery prevention paper and a card using the same. The object is achieved by providing a volume hologram sheet to be embedded comprising a volume hologram layer, and a substrate disposed only on one side surface of the volume hologram layer using an adhesion means, wherein a peeling strength of the volume hologram layer and the substrate is 25 gf/25 mm or more.

A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A SECURITY SHEET AND A SECURITY SHEET

The present invention is directed towards a method of manufacturing a security sheet (11) for displaying personal data and a security sheet (11) formed by such a method. The method comprises heating a plastic substrate (14) to an at least softened state. The method further comprises applying a resin (8) to a first and/or second outer surface (15, 16) of the plastic substrate (14) such that the resin (8) fuses with the plastic substrate (14) during the heating step to form at least one raised structure (25). The present disclosure is also directed towards a security document (10) comprising such a security sheet (11) and an apparatus (30) for manufacturing the security sheet (11).

A SECURITY SHEET FOR AN IDENTITY DOCUMENT

The present disclosure provides a security sheet (11) for an identity document (10). The security sheet (11) comprises a plastic substrate (14) formed from a plurality of plastic layers (34). The plastic substrate (14) comprises a plurality of windows (60) and each window (60) has a maximum width in the range of from approximately 0.5 mm to approximately 10 mm. The present invention is further directed to an identification document (10) comprising the security sheet (11), a plurality of such identity documents (10) and a method of manufacturing the security sheet (11).

Document with hologram, and method of producing same

A description is given of a document with a hologram as a security feature, in particular an identity card (12), consisting of a polycarbonate card body (10), which has a volume hologram label (2, 9) embedded therein. A description is additionally given of a method for producing the document, in which volume hologram labels (2) arranged on a carrier sheet are brought into contact with adhesive regions (4) on a thermoplastic sheet (5.1), the adhesive surfaces are cured and the carrier sheet is then removed. A second plastics sheet (5.2) is then adhesively bonded onto the first plastics sheet (5.1), bearing the hologram labels, using a second adhesive (7) in the region of the hologram labels (2) to form a two-layered sheet composite (6) which, finally, is laminated, together with further thermoplastic sheets, in a card-lamination press, under the action of pressure and temperature, to give a card body (10), individual identity cards (12) being punched out.
