Film for Preventing Color Migration of Fabrics
20250042140 · 2025-02-06 ·

The invention provides a film for preventing color migration of fabrics, which is used for attaching on fabrics, comprising a surface layer and a barrier layer composition, the surface layer is a film of polyurethane, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer, or thermoplastic polyester elastomer; the barrier layer composition has a barrier layer capable of blocking dyes, and the barrier layer composition is combined with the surface layer. When the film is attached to a fabric, the barrier layer is located between the fabric and the surface layer to block colors of the fabric from migrating into the surface layer.

THIN MULTI-LAYER PANELING STRUCTURE
20250042142 · 2025-02-06 · ·

The invention relates to a multi-layer paneling structure having a high gloss cap and second layer of high impact resistance thermoplastic polymer or composites for exterior and interior paneling applications where chemical resistance and/or scratch resistance is desired. The invention also relates to a high gloss, multi-layer panel that can easily be repaired, once marred, to return the surface gloss to at least 90% of the original surface gloss. The invention further relates to articles made with the multi-layer paneling structure of the invention. The multi-layer structure can be used alone, or can be very thin and used as a replacement for an undercoating and coating on an article, such as a metal car part.

An improved protected graphics assembly according to the invention comprises the following sequential layers: optionally, at least one adhesive layer; at least one graphics layer; and at least one outwardly exposed polymer layer that is essentially free of high surface energy materials and has a gloss value of greater than 90 when tested according to ASTM D2457-03 at a 60-degree angle. The assembly is beneficially applied to a variety of articles and used in a variety of related methods. In an exemplary embodiment, a race car comprises a protected graphics assembly that comprises: optionally, at least one adhesive layer; at least one outwardly exposed polymer layer that is essentially free of high surface energy materials; and at least one graphics layer substantially protected from exterior exposure by the polymer layer.

THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION FOR MATTING, FLUORINE-BASED MATTE FILM, AND FLUORINE-BASED MATTE LAYERED FILM

Provided are a thermoplastic resin composition whereby gum formation is suppressed during manufacturing of a matte fluororesin molded article such as a film, and a fluorine-based matte film having excellent matte properties and chemical resistance, and a layered film. A thermoplastic resin composition () for a chemical-resistant matte film, comprising a fluorine-based resin (A), a matting agent (B) which is a thermoplastic resin insoluble in the fluorine-based resin (A), and a thermoplastic resin (C) soluble in the fluorine-based resin (A). A thermoplastic resin composition () containing the fluorine-based resin (A) and an acrylic matting agent (D) which is a thermoplastic resin, the content ratio of alkyl acrylate units with respect to 100% by mass of monofunctional monomer units in the monomer units constituting the matting agent (D) being 50-100% by mass, and the content ratio of other monofunctional monomer units being 0-50% by mass. A matte film molded from the abovementioned thermoplastic resin compositions. A layered film in which an acrylic resin is layered on the matte film.

High opacity laser printable facestock

A multilayer laminate such as a label assembly having high opacity and desirable appearance characteristics is described. The laminate includes a facestock layer, an adhesive layer, and a liner layer. The facestock layer includes a print-receiving top coat layer that includes a combination of titanium dioxide and one or more optical brighteners. The combination of these materials avoids build up of static charges upon laser printing on the facestock.

MULTI-LAYER FILMS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
20170182750 · 2017-06-29 ·

The present disclosure relates to multi-layer film structures and methods of manufacturing the same. The films can be oriented and heat shrinkable. The films can include an ethylene vinyl alcohol layer. In certain instances, the films do not include an individual polyamide layer.

METHOD OF FORMING MULTILAYER COATING FILM MADE FROM NATURAL MATERIAL

Disclosed are a multilayer coating film made from a natural material and a method of producing the same. The multilayer coating film may be produced by forming a multilayer coating film through formation of a color coating film for providing adhesion and color to a cork on the cork material and a clear coating film for realizing texture and supplementing properties on the color coating film. As such, the multilayer coating film may be made from a natural material to diversify the color and gloss of cork as a natural material, to additionally increase marketability of an interior material and provide various appearance, to prevent discoloration due to light (e.g. UV light.) and water permeation, and to enhance durability against abrasion, scratches and the like.

Method for making multi-layer print media by extrusion coating

The current invention utilizes an extrusion coating method as a key step in a series of multilayer construction processes to make a laminate for graphic application. The extrusion coated layer performs as a strengthening layer to provide mechanical properties for the construction, while an ink receptive coating layer delivers high quality printability performance. High gloss can be achieved through the use of a PET carrier.
