SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF APPAREL MANUFACTURING USING ADHESIVE BONDING
Embodiments include methods of making a fabric laminates including depositing a first and a second columns of discrete adhesive masses on a first layer of fabric, wherein the first and second columns of discrete adhesive masses are separated by a first gap area, and placing a second layer of fabric on the first layer of fabric sandwiching the first and second columns of discrete adhesive masses, and applying pressure to all layers to form a fabric laminate structure while maintaining the first gap area unobstructed and forming a tunnel area between the first gap area and the first and second fabric layers. In some embodiments, ribbons may be pulled through the tunnels. In some embodiments, the tunnels include batting material. In some embodiments, films are placed on the first or second fabric layer and they imprint their surface finish onto the discrete adhesive masses wetting the surface of the fabric layers.
Biaxially-Oriented Polyethylene Multilayer Film with a Matte Surface
A biaxially-oriented polyethylene (BOPE) multilayer film comprises a skin layer with a matte surface and a core, the skin layer with a matte surface comprising, in weight percent (wt %) based upon the weight of the skin layer: (1) from 20 to 80 wt % of an ethylene-based polymer, and (2) from 80 to 20 wt % of a propylene-based polymer; each of the ethylene-based polymer and the propylene-based polymer having a storage modulus, with a difference between the storage modulus of the ethylene-based polymer and the propylene-based polymer of greater than 40 megaPascals (MPa) at 110° C., and greater than 18 MPa at 120° C.
Composite polymeric film wear layer for hard surfaces
A composite polymeric film wear layer for application as a surface protection layer to impart lower gloss, higher scratch resistance, wear performance and comfort under foot to hard surface substrates is provided. Hard surface substrate made with the composite as well as methods for application are also provided.
METHOD FOR FORMING A STRESS-FREE MULTILAYER PVC SHEET MATERIAL
A method for forming a multilayer plastic sheet material is disclosed, where a first polymer mass is melted under pressure and is passed through an extruder head at a specified discharge rate in the form of a plastic strand in sheet form that is provided with one or more layers so that a multilayer plastic strand is formed. This is passed to two or more rolls of a finishing stand that processes the multilayer plastic strand into a sheet. After the plastic strand in sheet form leaves the extruder head, it is first passed between a top roll and a bottom roll of a roughing stand. The speed of the rolls of the finishing stand and the rolls of the roughing stand is synchronized with the discharge rate of the plastic strand in sheet form from the extruder head, so that the plastic strand is processed without stress.
Method for Producing a Matt Support Material Provided With an Anti-Fingerprint Coating
It is provided a method for producing a support material provided with at least one anti-fingerprint coating including the steps of: applying at least one layer of at least one powdered resin to at least one side of the support material; melting-on the at least one applied layer of the one powdered resin; applying at least one acrylate-containing dispersion to the melted-on resin layer; and drying and curing the layered structure.
Packaging material with matte and glossy appearance, and cold seal adhesive
A packaging material can include cold seal adhesive on a first side of a substrate, glossy material on a second side of the substrate, and matte material on the glossy material, so that the matte material covers at least a predetermined portion of the glossy material. Each of the glossy and matte materials can be a cold seal release lacquer configured so that when the packaging material is formed into a roll, the cold seal adhesive is releasably adhered to the cold seal release lacquers, the glossy cold seal release lacquer is fixedly adhered to the substrate, and the matte cold seal release lacquer is fixedly cohered to the glossy cold seal release lacquer.
High barrier coated paperboard
Paperboard structures having extruded barrier layers are provided. Using layer multiplication extrusion it has been found that nylon barrier layer properties can be improved. The further inclusion of metallocene PE in the layers being layer multiplied through extrusion coating provide additional improvements in barrier properties for the paperboard substrate.
