LIQUID CRYSTAL POLYMER COMPOSITE, LIQUID CRYSTAL POLYMER COMPOSITE FILM, AND METAL-CLAD LAMINATE INCLUDING SAME
A liquid crystal polymer composite film is formed from a resin composite including one or more liquid crystal polymers and one or more fillers. The liquid crystal polymer composite film has a thickness in the range of 10 μm-200 μm and a ratio of the in-plane dielectric permittivity in the machine direction to the transverse direction in the range of 1.0-1.4 over a frequency range of 1 Ghz to 10 Ghz. A metal-clad laminate includes the liquid crystal polymer composite film and a metal clad layer laminated to a major surface of the liquid crystal polymer composite film. The metal-clad laminate may be included as part of an antenna.
IN-LINE LAMINATION PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE PANELS WITH EMBOSSED FILM LAYERS
In-line systems and in-line methods are described that can be used to provide lightweight reinforced thermoplastic composite articles that include a textured or an embossed film layer. The textured or embossed film layer can provide one or more of water resistance, flame retardancy, a desired surface roughness, enhanced peel strength, enhanced acoustic absorption or other desired properties. The lightweight reinforced thermoplastic composite articles that include a textured or an embossed film layer can be used in building applications, in recreational vehicle applications and in other applications as desired.
Composite material in which steel sheet and plastic layer having functional group introduced therein are laminated, and method for producing same
A composite material comprising a plastic layer; and a steel sheet laminated on one side or both sides of the plastic layer, and having a structure in which plastic particles are introduced onto the surface of the side where the plastic layer is laminated with the steel sheet and a method for producing the same are provided, wherein the composite material is capable of being used as automotive parts or structures, and the like.
Wet-area device and method for manufacturing wet-area device
According to one embodiment, a wet-area device includes a main part, a first layer, and a second layer. The first layer is provided on an outer surface of the main part. The second layer is provided on an outer surface of the first layer. A hardness of the second layer is greater than a hardness of the first layer. The first layer includes a first unevenness at a side of the outer surface of the first layer. The first unevenness includes a plurality of recesses and a plurality of protrusions. The second layer includes a second unevenness at a side of an outer surface of the second layer. The second unevenness includes a plurality of recesses and a plurality of protrusions. The second unevenness is arranged along the first unevenness. An average height of the first unevenness is less than an average length of the first unevenness.
OPTICAL BODY INCLUDING MULTILAYER OPTICAL FILM AND THIN ADHESIVE LAYER
Optical bodies are described. In particular, optical bodies having a birefringent multilayer optical film and a continuous adhesive layer with a thickness less than 20 micrometers are described. Optical bodies described herein exhibit reduced occurrence and severity of a non-uniformity defect known as “orange peel.”
COATING FOR REDUCING OIL ABSORBENCY OF CELLULOSIC WEBS
A method for reducing the surface oil absorption of cellulose based substrate is provided, in which a coating composition is applied to said substrate; and in which the coating composition comprises carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and/or a salt of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). A coated paperboard, and a laminate of the coated paperboard with a polymer layer is also provided. The coating composition provides improved surface oil absorption and improved adherence of an overlying polymer layer.
WEDGE-SHAPED MULTI-LAYER INTERLAYER WITH OUTER SKIN LAYERS OF VARYING THICKNESS
Multiple layer interlayers having enhanced optical and acoustic properties are provided, along with methods of making and using the same. Interlayers as described herein may include at least two outer skin layers and an inner core layer, with one of the outer skin layers having a different thickness than the other at one or more locations along the interlayer. The multi-layer interlayer may also exhibit acoustic properties and, in some cases, may have an overall wedged thickness profile. Additionally, in some aspects, interlayers and laminates formed therefrom may also provide reduced infrared energy transmission, without sacrificing acoustic and/or optical performance.
Methods and apparatuses for mitigating tin whisker growth on tin and tin-plated surfaces by doping tin with germanium
The present disclosure generally relates to the field of tin electroplating. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to methods for mitigating tin whisker formation on tin-plated films and tin-plated surfaces by doping the tin with germanium.
Poly(aryl ether ketone) (PAEK) compositions including a low molecular weight aromatic compound
A polymer composition includes at least one poly(aryl ether ketone) (PAEK) component and at least one low molecular weight aromatic compound. A polymer metal junction including the polymer composition and a method of making a polymer metal junction are also described.
Transfer system for a composite material
A transfer system for a composite material including: a nonwoven as carrier material and a textile layer of reinforcing fibers, wherein the reinforcing fibers consist of mono- or multifilaments or tapes and the carrier material is adhesively bonded to the layer of reinforcing fibers.
