In an embodiment, an aircraft includes a fuselage; a propulsion system powered by a fuel; and a fuel cell configured to store the fuel, the fuel cell including an inner layer configured to contact the fuel; an outer layer; and a self-sealing fabric structure formed from ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), the self-sealing fabric structure being between the inner layer and the outer layer, the self-sealing fabric structure being configured to self-seal a hole formed in the inner layer and the outer layer by a projectile.
Undercover for vehicles having high elasticity and rigidity and method for manufacturing the same
Disclosed are an undercover for vehicles with high elasticity and rigidity and a method of manufacturing the same. The undercover for vehicles with high elasticity and rigidity may include a needle-punched nonwoven fabric having a multi-layer structure of felt layers including a first PET fiber and a low-melting-point PET fiber, and each of the felt layers may have improved tensile strength and have optimized fiber alignment, to thereby improve the binding between fibers, mechanical rigidity and elasticity, as well as to reduce the weight of components, improve durability and secure harmlessness and inline workability.
Structural and decorative composite material, preparation method therefor, and article containing same
Provided are a composite material and a preparation method therefor. The composite material comprises: a base layer; a first plant fibre fabric located on the upper surface of the base layer; optionally, a second plant fibre fabric located on the lower surface of the base layer; and resins present in each layer. The composite material has a decorative performance and an improved mechanical performance.
Polyester films and devices containing them
A thermoformable biaxially oriented coextruded polyester film comprising a copolyester base layer B, a first polyester outer layer A1 and a second polyester outer layer A2, wherein said outer layers are disposed on opposite surfaces of said base layer, and wherein: (i) said base layer B comprises a copolyester derived from terephthalic acid (TA) and a second aromatic dicarboxylic acid and one or more diol(s), wherein said second aromatic dicarboxylic acid is present in the copolyester in an amount of from about to 5 about 20 mol % of the acid fraction of the copolyester; (ii) the polyester of each of said outer layers A1 and A2 is selected from polyethylene terephthalate (PET); and (iii) the thickness of the base layer constitutes at least 90% of the total thickness of the coextruded multi-layer polyester film.
Anti-icing stack
Anti-icing stacks for protecting an aerodynamic surface are described. In some embodiments, an anti-icing stack includes an anti-icing layer, an elastomeric erosion protection layer, and an additional layer. The erosion protection layer is disposed between the anti-icing layer and the additional layer. The additional layer has a thickness greater than the thickness of the erosion protection layer and a tensile modulus of no more than the tensile modulus of the erosion protection layer. The additional layer may be a foam adhesive layer.
Footwear sole structure having a fluid-filled chamber including a tensile member
A footwear sole structure having a fluid-filled chamber including a tensile member is provided. The fluid-filled chamber includes a first barrier sheet, a second barrier sheet and the tensile member. The first barrier sheet is formed from a first thermoplastic material. The second barrier sheet is attached to the first barrier sheet and is formed from a second thermoplastic material. The first barrier sheet and the second barrier sheet cooperate to define an internal cavity. The tensile member is disposed within the internal cavity and is formed from a third thermoplastic material. A first weld attaches the first barrier sheet, the second barrier sheet, and the tensile member together by melding the first thermoplastic material of the first barrier sheet, the second thermoplastic material of second barrier sheet, and the third thermoplastic material of the tensile member.
Sound absorbing material
The sound absorbing material according to the present invention is formed by laminating a porous sound absorber and two or more sheets of a nonwoven fabric one on another. The nonwoven fabric has a plurality of drawn filaments arranged and oriented in one direction. The mode value of the diameter distribution of the plurality of filaments is in the range of 1 to 4 μm. The grammage of the nonwoven fabric is in the range of 5 to 40 g/m.sup.2. The sound absorbing material according to the present invention provides high sound absorption performance in a predetermined low frequency band of 6000 Hz or less, and still remains light in weight and flexible enough and easy enough to handle to be substantially comparable to the porous sound absorber.
