COMPOSITE FLYWHEEL
A method of manufacturing a flywheel comprising: forming a first hollow cylinder from glass fibre composite with magnetic particles dispersed through at least part of the cylinder; curing said first cylinder in a first curing step; forming a second hollow cylinder from carbon fibre composite; and curing said second hollow cylinder in a second curing step.
Stabilizer torque box assembly and method
In an embodiment of the disclosure, there is provided a method of fabricating a thermoplastic torque box assembly. The method includes providing a plurality of braided thermoplastic tubular spar caps, connecting one or more connector elements to one or more of the braided thermoplastic tubular spar caps, and laying up an inner thermoplastic facesheet in a continuous manner around the one or more braided thermoplastic tubular spar caps. The method further includes attaching a plurality of skin panel stabilization elements to the inner thermoplastic facesheet to define four torque box side portions, laying up and attaching an outer thermoplastic facesheet in a continuous manner around the plurality of skin panel stabilization elements, and heating at an effective temperature and an effective pressure the thermoplastic torque box assembly.
Multilayered Rotomoulded Articles
The present invention relates to rotomoulded articles and method for preparing said articles, said articles comprising: (i) at least one layer A comprising fibers embedded in a composition comprising at least one vinyl ester resin; and (ii) at least one layer B comprising: from 40 to 100%, preferably from 75 to 100%, by weight relative to the total weight of said layer B of at least one thermoplastic polyester; from 0 to 60% by weight relative to the total weight of said layer B of a polyolefin composition; said composition comprising at least one polyolefin, preferably said at least one polyolefin is polyethylene; and from 0 to 20% by weight relative to the total weight of said layer B of at least one additive selected from compatibilizing agent and/or impact modifier; wherein at least one layer A is contacting one layer B.
POLYMERIC INTERLAYERS AND MULTIPLE LAYER PANELS MADE THEREFROM EXHIBITING ENHANCED PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCE
Multiple layer panels including a pair of substrates and an interlayer disposed therebetween are provided. In some cases, the multiple layer panels may utilize substrates having different thicknesses, and such configurations may help reduce glass thickness and overall panel weight. However, panels of the present invention may still exhibit sufficient strength, rigidity, and acoustic performance and can be suitable for use in a wide range of automotive, aeronautical, and/or architectural applications.
ADHESIVELY JOINED STRUCTURE AND COMPONENT FOR VEHICLE
This bonded structure includes a first member having a metal portion and a film portion disposed on at least a part of a surface of the metal portion; a second member; an adhesive layer for joining the first member and the second member to each other via the film portion. The film portion contains a resin and inorganic particles. The inorganic particles are formed of ferrosilicon or non-oxide ceramics containing V. Some of the inorganic particles protrude toward the adhesive layer. The particle size of at least some of the inorganic particles protruding toward the adhesive layer is less than the film thickness of the film portion.
Optical laminate having thin glass, polarizer, and protective film with specified modulus of elasticity
Provided is an optical laminate capable of contributing to reduction in weight and improvement in impact resistance of a display apparatus. The optical laminate includes a thin glass having a thickness of 100 μm or less and a polarizing plate arranged on one side of the thin glass, in which the polarizing plate includes a polarizer and a protective film arranged on a surface of the polarizer on a thin glass side. In one embodiment, the optical laminate of the present invention further includes an adhesion layer between the thin glass and the polarizing plate.
POLYETHYLENE COMPOSITIONS AND FILMS COMPRISING THE SAME
The present invention relates to polyethylene compositions. In one aspect, a polyethylene composition comprises (1) a first polyethylene fraction having a single peak in a temperature range of 50° C. to 85° C. in an elution profile via iCCD analysis method, (2) a second polyethylene fraction having a single peak in a temperature range of 85° C. to 100° C. in the elution profile via iCCD analysis method, and (3) a third polyethylene fraction having a single peak in a temperature range of 100° C. to 120° C. in the elution profile via iCCD analysis method, wherein the first polyethylene area fraction comprises 25 to 50% of the total area of the elution profile, wherein the second polyethylene area fraction comprises 30 to 50% of the total area of the elution profile, and wherein the third polyethylene area fraction comprises 15 to 35% of the total area of the elution profile.
MULTILAYER FILMS AND ARTICLES COMPRISING THE SAME
The present invention relates to multilayer films. In one aspect, a multilayer film comprises a first polyethylene composition having a density of at least 0.965 g/cm.sup.3 and as further described herein and a second polyethylene composition having a density of 0.924 g/cm.sup.3 to 0.936 g/cm.sup.3 and as further described herein, wherein the multilayer film comprises 40 weight percent or less of the first polyethylene composition based on the total weight of the multilayer film.
FLAT SANDWICH PANEL ARTICULATING BOTTOM PAN
Described are passenger seat bottom assemblies that include a layered seat bottom assembly formed of a first face sheet, a lightweight core layer, and a second face sheet bonded together, preferably in a flat or substantially flat arrangement. The core layer can be a honeycomb structure, e.g. a metal or aluminum honeycomb, or a foam, that confers a high strength and stiffness to the seat bottom assembly with minimal forming and minimal weight.
Exterior vehicle trim part
