Flexible transparent material with reinforcement threads
A translucent or transparent composite flexible sheet includes at least one reinforcing layer comprising high tenacity yarns; and a fluorinated polymeric film which is translucent or transparent to visible light, which is integral with the reinforcing layer. The reinforcing layer is a textile with a light transmittance of more than 40%, and includes high tenacity yarns based on an aromatic block polyester with a Young's modulus of more than 50 GPa. The yarns have a sheath of material which blocks ultraviolet radiation.
PACKAGING FILMS WITH ALTERNATING INDIVIDUAL LAYERS OF GLASS AND PLASTIC
The present invention is directed to packaging films comprising a coextruded film having alternating individual layers of glass and plastic. These packaging films may be used for flexible food and pharmaceutical packaging. These packaging films provide excellent oxygen and moisture barrier protection while having superior flexibility.
High strength multi-use hose
A single layer/ply multi-use hose is contemplated. A thermoplastic polymer, such as polyurethane, is extruded through a woven tubular mesh of aramid fibers so as to encourage pillaring through gaps in the mesh of a sufficient amount to improve the overall durability and strength of the resultant hose. This wide diameter (at least 4 inches) and long continuous length (at least 300 feet) hose exhibits excellent durability (e.g., resistance to abrasion and/or punctures) and tensile ratios in excess of 2:1 so as to withstand tensile loads in excess of 100,000 pounds without delamination or bubbling within the hose wall.
METAL-PLASTIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
The present invention provides a metal-plastic composite material having excellent adhesive strength and formability and a method for manufacturing the same, and specifically, the present invention provides a metal-plastic composite material and a method for manufacturing the same comprising: a metal layer; and a plastic layer on at least one surface of the metal layer, wherein a thin film layer formed of a silane coupling agent is provided between the metal layer and the plastic layer, and the metal layer and the plastic layer are bonded by covalent bonding with the silane coupling agent.
ACRYLIC POLYVINYL ACETAL FILMS & COMPOSITION
A film is described comprises a (meth)acrylic polymer and a polyvinyl acetal (e.g. butyral) resin. In some embodiments, the film has a glass transition temperature (i.e. Tg) ranging from 30° C. to 60° C. In some embodiments, the film has a gel content of at least 20% or greater. In some embodiments, the film has an elongation at break of at least 175%. The film typically comprises photoinitiator as a result of the method by which the film was made. The film may be a monolithic film or a layer of a multilayer film.
A FLOOR ELEMENT FOR FORMING A FLOOR COVERING, A FLOOR COVERING, AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FLOOR ELEMENT
A floor element for forming a floor covering, the floor element comprising a decorative layer comprising a ceramic material, an intermediate layer comprising a resin material, and a support layer arranged below the decorative layer, wherein the support layer comprises edges provided with coupling elements configured to realize a mechanical coupling with coupling elements of an adjacent floor element and wherein the resin material comprises a modulus of elasticity greater than 0.1 GPa, preferably greater than 0.5 GPa, even more preferably greater than 1 GPa.
Active agent-containing articles that exhibit consumer acceptable article in-use properties
Active agent-containing articles, for example fibrous structures, that exhibit consumer acceptable article in-use properties, such as article peel strength, flexibility, and/or dissolvability, and methods for making same are provided.
Deployable KiriForm flexures
A deployable Kiriform flexure includes first and second sections. The first section of the Kiriform flexure includes a plurality of curved fins arranged about a central axis. The second section of the Kiriform flexure includes a plurality of curved fins arranged about a central axis. Each fin of the second section is joined with a fin of the first section such that the first and second sections share a common central axis in a configuration that produces out-of-plane elastic buckling of the fins to actuate the Kiriform flexure from a substantially flat structure that extends substantially only in two dimensions orthogonal to the central axis to an expanded structure extending substantially in a third dimension parallel to the central axis when at least one of the first and second sections is rotated relative to the other section.
Polymer films and electronic devices
In a first aspect, a polymer film includes a polyimide. The polyimide includes one or more dianhydrides and one or more diamines. Each of the dianhydrides and diamines is selected from the group consisting of crankshaft monomers, flexible monomers, rigid rotational monomers, rigid non-rotational monomers, and rotational inhibitor monomers. The polymer film has a D.sub.f of 0.005 or less, a water absorption of 2.0% or less and a water vapor transport rate of 50 (g×mil)/(m.sup.2×day) or less. In a second aspect, a metal-clad laminate includes the polymer film of first aspect and a first metal layer adhered to a first outer surface of the polymer film. In a third aspect, an electronic device includes the polymer film of the first aspect.
LAYER ELEMENT SUITABLE AS INTEGRATED BACKSHEET ELEMENT OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULE
The invention relates to a layer element comprising three layers A, B and C in the configuration A-B-C wherein layers A and B and layers B and C are in adhering contact with each other, an article, preferably a photovoltaic module, comprising said layer element, a process for preparing said layer element, a process for preparing a photovoltaic module comprising said layer element and the use of said layer element as integrated backsheet element of a photovoltaic module.
