COVER WINDOW ASSEMBLY, RELATED ARTICLES AND METHODS
The present invention is directed to a cover window assembly comprising a multi-layer films of polymeric and inorganic materials for a variety of articles, and the related articles and methods. The cover window assembly exhibits high resistance to strain and impact damage for the articles including display devices, particularly flexible display devices.
METHOD FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF POST-DEFORMABLE HIGH- PRESSURE COMPOSITE AND PRODUCT OBTAINED THEREFROM
The present invention falls within the scope of thermo-laminated and compact high-pressure composites, namely it relates to a method for the manufacture of a post-deformable high-pressure composite, which can be used in the automotive, aircraft, railway and naval industries, as well as in the architecture and design sector, both in indoor and outdoor environments, comprising the steps of formation of a composite (1) by the arrangement of at least two layers of material, including a layer of Kraft paper sheets (3) coated with thermoplastic resin and a layer of decorative coating; the composite formed in a flat shape, when subjected to a certain temperature and pressure in a mould (4), changes in its geometry according to the shape of that mould (4). It is also an object of this invention the product obtained with the aforementioned manufacturing method.
PREPREG, LAMINATE, AND INTEGRATED PRODUCT
A prepreg includes [A], [B], and [C] described below. The [B] further comprises [B′]; a ratio of a mole number of an active hydrogen contained in [B′] to a mole number of an epoxy group in an epoxy resin contained in [B] is in a range of 0.6 to 1.1 both inclusive; [C] is present on a surface of the prepreg; and [A] that crosses over a boundary surface between a resin region containing [B] and a resin region containing [C] and that is in contact with both resin regions is present: [A] a reinforcing fiber; [B] an epoxy resin composition; an amine compound; and [C] a thermoplastic resin composition.
ANTI-BALLISTIC BARRIERS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
Laminates and their process of manufacture, with the laminates made with anti-ballistic materials, such as woven and unwoven fabrics. The laminates are provided with different structures, materials, bondings, and other features, and example methods of manufacturing those laminates efficiently and in mass quantities. The method of production is a process of laminating individual flexible sheets including anti-ballistic material (which may be of woven or unwoven cloth or thin solid sheets or foils comprised of one or more light-weight anti-ballistic materials) into a flexible laminate for use to protect people or spaces from ballistic objects such as bullets and shrapnel from weapons and other moderate to high-kinetic energy objects. Also, an anti-ballistic protection system for protecting an interior space in a building. The ballistic barrier includes the laminated material having a plurality of layers of lightweight, flexible, ballistic resistant material such as woven sheets which are secured together into the laminate using a adhesive, heat weld, or stitching. The ballistic barrier is configured to be in a compact retracted state which can be deployed to provide a protective state to protect against kinetic ballistic projectiles.
Soft anti-ballistic composite
A composite material for dissipating the kinetic energy of an impacting object includes a strike face oriented to receive the impacting object and a protected face oriented to be proximate a user or a protected item. A first portion includes at least a first woven fabric layer and at least a Non-Newtonian Fluid (NNF) sheet. The first portion is disposed adjacent the strike face. A second portion includes at least a second woven fiber layer, and the second portion is disposed adjacent the protected face.
RESIN SHEET FOR MOLDING AND MOLDED ARTICLE USING SAME
Provided is a resin sheet for molding that has a high-hardness resin layer that includes a high-hardness resin on at least one surface of a base material layer that includes a polycarbonate resin, the high-hardness resin layer having a hardcoat layer or a hardcoat anti-glare layer layered on at least one side thereof. The glass transition points of the polycarbonate resin and the high-hardness resin satisfy the relationship: −10° C.≤(glass transition point of high-hardness resin)−(glass transition point of polycarbonate resin)≤40° C. The in-plane retardation of the resin sheet as measured at a wavelength of 543 nm is at least 4,000 nm. A resin film that has an in-plane retardation of no more than 50 nm as measured at a wavelength of 543 nm is stuck to one side of the resin sheet by means of an adhesive layer that includes an adhesive.
WELDABLE THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE COMPOSITES
The invention relates to the use of a low Tg compatible resin as an adhesive layer for the welding of a thermoplastic composite structure to a thermoplastic or thermoset structure. The invention is especially good for the welding of large parts, such as wind turbine halves and spar caps. A useful thermoplastic composite is one formed by the infusion and curing of long fibers by a reactive acrylic liquid resin system, such as ELIUM® resin systems from Arkema.
