EXTRUDED PRE-STRETCHED POLYETHYLENE FILMS
A method of making a pre-stretched plastic packaging film comprising co-extruding a top layer, a bottom layer, and a core layer into a multilayer film intermediate product, wherein the top layer and bottom layer comprise at least about 95 wt % polyethylene resin, and the core layer comprises polyethylene resin and filler particles; stretching the multilayer film intermediate product to impart cavitation in the core layer in the area of the filler particles to form a pre-stretched polyethylene-based film; and rolling the pre-stretched polyethylene-based film onto a roller to form a roll of pre-stretched polyethylene-based film. A multilayer pre-stretched plastic packaging film comprising: a core layer sandwiched between a top layer and a bottom layer wherein the top layer and bottom layer comprise at least about 95 wt % polyethylene, and the core layer comprises filler particles having a particle size of 0.1 to 20 μm in a polyethylene-based matrix comprising at least about 95 wt % polyethylene.
Plaster boards having internal layers and methods for making them
Disclosed herein are plaster boards that include first and second layers of hardened plaster material, a liner attached to the first layer of hardened plaster material, and a first material (e.g., a polymer material such as a viscoelastic polymer) adhered between the liner and the second layer of hardened plaster material. The liner includes one or more structurally weakened regions each extending substantially from a first edge to a second opposing edge of the plaster board. The structurally weakened regions of the liner may facilitate creation of a fissure that propagates substantially within a plane within the plaster board. Methods for making the plaster boards may involve drying wet plaster material while it is in contact with a liner having structurally weakened regions, processing a liner to form its structurally weakened regions while in contact with wet plaster material, or processing a liner to form its structurally weakened regions while in contact with hardened plaster material.
Waterproofing membrane with a solid filler component
The invention is directed to a membrane used in waterproofing and roofing applications, the membrane comprising a barrier layer S1 comprising a thermoplastic polymer component P1 and a contact layer S2 bonded to at least portion of the barrier layer S1, the contact layer S2 comprising a mixture of a solid filler component F and a thermoplastic polymer component P2. The invention is also directed to a method for producing the membrane, a method for waterproofing a substrate, to a waterproofed construction, to a method for sealing a substrate against water penetration and to a sealed construction for sealing a substrate against water penetration.
Adhesive tape with fine-stitch stitch-bonded web
An adhesive tape, including a substrate including a stitched fleece and an adhesive layer applied one-side on the substrate, wherein the stitched fleece is formed from fibers, which are stitched with stitching yarns. A manually tearable adhesive tape is disclosed, with improved abrasion resistance properties together with a high noise damping. The stitching yarns may be stitched with a fineness of at least F24.
Laminated multilayer membranes, separators, batteries, and methods
Disclosed herein are novel or improved microporous battery separator membranes, separators, batteries including such separators, methods of making such membranes, separators, and/or batteries, and/or methods of using such membranes, separators and/or batteries. Further disclosed are laminated multilayer polyolefin membranes with exterior layers comprising one or more polyethylenes, which exterior layers are designed to provide an exterior surface that has a low pin removal force. Further disclosed are battery separator membranes having increased electrolyte absorption capacity at the separator/electrode interface region, which may improve cycling. Further disclosed are battery separator membranes having improved adhesion to any number of coatings. Also described are battery separator membranes having a tunable thermal shutdown where the onset temperature of thermal shutdown may be raised or lowered and the rate of thermal shutdown may be changed or increased. Also disclosed are multilayer battery separator membranes having enhanced web handling performance during manufacturing processes and coating operations.
Laminated packaging material, packaging containers manufactured therefrom and a method for manufacturing the laminate material
The present invention relates to a laminated liquid food packaging material, comprising a bulk layer of paper or carton or other cellulose-based material and outer layers of thermoplastic polymers on both sides, having a decorative print pattern arranged beneath one of the outer thermoplastic polymer layers. The invention further relates to the method for manufacturing the laminated packaging material and to a packaging container for liquid food packaging, comprising the laminated packaging material.
Recyclable, Easily Tearable Packaging Laminate Having a Good Barrier Effect, and Method for The Production Thereof
The present teaching relates to a recyclable, easily tearable packaging laminate having a good barrier effect, including a first laminate layer and a second laminate layer. The first laminate layer is a co-extruded and bidirectionally stretched composite consisting of a substrate layer having an HDPE content of at least 60 vol. %, a connecting layer and a barrier layer consisting of a barrier polymer, preferably polyamide or ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, having a thickness of maximum 20% of the total thickness of the first laminate layer. The connecting layer is arranged between the substrate layer and the barrier layer, and the first laminate layer is connected, at its barrier layer, to the second laminate layer.
