USE OF DUAL OVENABLE POLYESTER FILMS IN THERMOFORMING PACKAGING APPLICATIONS AND DUAL OVENABLE THERMOFORMED PACKAGES OBTAINED THEREFROM

The present invention relates to thermoforming food packaging methods and to dual ovenable thermoformed food packages suitable for cooking food products directly in the package in microwave, conventional and convection ovens. These packages are characterized by good hermeticity, clean peelability, self-venting, very good optics and, if shrunk, a very appealing appearance.

USE OF DUAL OVENABLE POLYESTER FILMS IN VACUUM SKIN PACKAGING APPLICATIONS AND SKIN PACKAGES OBTAINED THEREFROM

The present invention relates to the use of dual ovenable biaxially oriented polyester films in vacuum skin packaging applications. Furthermore, the invention relates to preferably dual ovenable skin packages, in particular to preferably dual ovenable vacuum skin food packages for cook-in applications. Due to the very high formability, the VSP packages of the present invention do not show the defects of prior VSP ovenable packages such as self-sealing of the top web or unsealed areas around the packed product.

MULTI-LAYER CARD AND FILM ASSEMBLY

A multi-layer card comprising a polymeric inlay layer having a first surface and a second surface, further comprising a first multi-layer film which is disposed on the first surface of the polymeric inlay layer, and further comprising a first polymeric overlay layer which is disposed on said first multi-layer film, such that the layer order is polymeric inlay layer, first multi-layer film and first polymeric overlay layer, wherein said first multi-layer film comprises: (i) a polyester base layer (B) comprising a crystallisable polyester (P.sub.B), and further comprising titanium dioxide in an amount of from about 1 to about 30 wt % by total weight of the base layer; (ii) a first heat-sealable copolyester layer (A1) disposed on a first surface of said polyester base layer; and (iii) optionally a second heat-sealable copolyester layer (A2) disposed on a second surface of said polyester base layer, wherein the copolyester (CP.sub.A) of each of the first and optional second heat-sealable copolyester layers is independently selected from amorphous copolyesters (ACP.sub.A) derived from an aliphatic diol and a cycloaliphatic diol and at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid, and/or the polyester base layer (B) further comprises a copolyester (CP.sub.B) in an amount of at least about 10% by weight based on the total weight of the base layer (B).

Antifog polyester lidding film for CPET trays

The present disclosure is directed to peelable, heat-sealable lidding films for containers of diverse polymer compositions storing various products such as foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals. The lidding films disclosed herein can be heat-sealed to crystalline polyester trays (CPET), easily peeled, and contain improved antifogging performance by incorporating a non-migratory antifogging additive into the heat sealable layer of the film without deteriorating seal strengths.

Starch coated polyester film for release of canned meat products

An embodiment relates to a multi-layer, biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film comprising a food contact substance, wherein the BOPET has a percent release in a retort test after can lamination such that substantially all food contacting the BOPET during the retort test is released. Another embodiment relates to a method comprising applying a food contact material comprising a food contact substance to a multi-layer, biaxially oriented polyester (BOPET) film, wherein the food contact material is prepared at around room temperature without heating.
