Films Made of Polyethylene Blends for Improved Sealing Performance and Mechanical Properties
Provided herein are films comprising a core layer sandwiched between an outer layer and a scaling layer. The film has a seal initiation temperature at 5 N/15 mm between about 82° C. and about 88° C., a 1% secant modulus m MD between about 300 MPa and about 400 MPa, and plateau seal strength at between about 16 and about 17 N/15 mm. While the outer layer and core layers comprise polyethylene compositions, the sealing layer comprises a polyethylene blend. The polyethylene blend comprises a plastomer and a polyethylene composition in an amount equal to or less than 50 wt %.
FOAM FORMED SOLID COMPOSITE COMPRISING NANOCELLULOSE AND SOLID LOW-DENSITY PARTICLES
The present invention relates to a foam formed solid composite, comprising: a matrix phase consisting of a mixture of nanocellulose, at least one foaming agent, and optional additives, and a dispersed phase consisting of solid low-density particles having a density of less than 1.2 kg/dm.sup.3. The present invention further relates to a method and a liquid foam composition for manufacturing the solid composite.
LIGHT WEIGHT LINERBOARD FOR CORRUGATED BOARD
The invention relates to a method to produce a linerboard exhibiting a high bending resistance and a high compression strength, which in turn provides high resistance to interflute buckling and sagging in a thereof formed corrugated board. This is achieved by the inventive combination of an optimized fiber refining level of the furnish in each layer of the linerboard, the separate formation of the top layer and the use of a multi-layer headbox to form the two-layered ply. In addition, the linerboard made according to the invention provides good printing properties in a thereof produced corrugated board, especially in flexographic printing, without the fluting structure being negatively affected.
RECYCLABLE FLEXIBLE HIGH BARRIER FILMS AND BAGS FOR PACKAGING FLOWABLE MATERIALS
The disclosure provides ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer and/or copolymer based coextruded, multi-layer films, including high barrier films and non-barrier films, and articles of manufacture that include the films, such as flexible bags and containers for flowable materials. The films and articles that include the films have good flex-crak resistance and toughness. The films and articles that include the films have good high barrier properties as the barrier films include a core layer of ethylene-vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer. The relatively low amount of EVOH copolymer in the total film that is needed to achieve the flex-crack resistance, toughness, and high barrier properties, further allow for the recycling of the films and articles of manufacture.
LAMINATED FILM
A multi-laminate film includes a first biaxially oriented film having a first machine direction angle and a first spiral cut oriented film having a second machine direction angle different than the first machine direction angle. The multi-laminate film also includes at least one of a second biaxially oriented film having the first machine direction angle or a second spiral cut oriented film. The first biaxially oriented film, the first spiral cut oriented film and the at least one of the second biaxially oriented film or second spiral cut oriented film are laminated together.
MULTILAYER STRUCTURES, LAMINATES, AND RELATED ARTICLES
Provided are multilayer structures, laminates and articles formed from such structures. In one aspect, a multilayer structure comprises (a) a multilayer polyethylene film, wherein an outer layer of the film comprises a polymer blend of at least one ethylene-based polymer and at least one ethylene acid copolymer, wherein the difference between the melt index (I2) of the ethylene acid copolymer and the ethylene-based polymer is less than 18, and wherein the acid content of the polymer blend is greater than 0.2%; and (b) a metal layer comprising a metal deposited on the outer layer of the polyethylene film.
Electromagnetic Shielding For Electric Vehicles
The present invention is directed at electromagnetic shielding that is particularly suitable for applications in electric vehicles. The electromagnetic shielding is relatively lightweight and can be integrated into a carpet or textile type construction.
Molded article and production method therefor
A molded product having both small specific gravity and high stiffness and also suffering few sink marks is described along with a method for the production thereof, where the molded product includes a porous body (A) integrated with an injection molded body (B), the porous body (A) having an apparent density of 0.05 to 0.8 g/cm.sup.3, the average thickness (tA) of the porous body (A) and the average thickness (tB) of the injection molded body (B) satisfying the relation tA≥3×tB, and the injection molded body (B) covering at least one face of the porous body (A).
FOAM SHEET CORE FOR COMPOSITE SANDWICH STRUCTURES AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A foam sheet core, including a plurality of foam sheet walls defining an array of hollow cells, wherein the plurality of foam sheet walls are bonded together to form the array of hollow cells, each of the plurality of foam sheet walls has a thickness from about 0.002 inches to about 0.08 inches, and each of the plurality of foam sheet walls has an average height from about 0.05 inches to about 5 inches.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A MULTI-LAYER COMPOSITE FILM, MULTI-LAYER COMPOSITE FILM, AND USE THEREOF
A method is for producing a coextruded and biaxially stretched composite film using a novel combination of stretching and relaxation steps. A corresponding composite film has little or no shrinkage.
