Methods of forming repulpable containers

A method of forming a shipping container includes mixing paper fibers with a binder fiber to form a mixture; disposing the mixture onto a surface to form a layer of the mixture; applying heat to form a paper fiber batt from the mixture having a fixed width and fixed length; and inserting the paper fiber batt within an interior of a corrugated box.

BOX AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING THE SAME
20210316522 · 2021-10-14 · ·

A box suitable for the packaging of a consumer product is formed by helically wrapping an elongated continuous strip of material around a mandrel to form a main body with a plurality of bands. In one embodiment, adjacent bands partially overlie one another to form a multi-paneled main body with an open top end and an open bottom end. An adhesive is disposed within the region of contact between adjacent bands to retain the shape of the main body. First and second sets of slots are formed in the main body to create flaps dimensioned to selectively enclose the open top and bottom ends, respectively. To define the flaps and promote pivotal articulation, the main body is also preferably provided with score lines. By adjusting the configuration of the mandrel, a customized box can be constructed that is sized to receive a consumer product with limited wasted space.

A multi-layered material that includes a layer of natural leather or collagen leather with holes and/or micro-holes and coated with a hydrophobic agent, which is superimposed and adhered, by means of hydrolysis-resistant adhesives, said adhesives being arranged in a non-laminar fashion, to a layer of waterproof, breathable material to prevent the passage of water and to allow the passage of air therethrough.

PACKAGING MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A PACKAGING MATERIAL

A packaging material having a core layer and inside and outside laminate portions is provided. The packaging material comprises a first area to form a first package, and a second area to form a second and adjacent package. The first area and the second area have a transversal sealing area between them, and the core layer is provided with at least one weakening portion at the transversal sealing area.

Moldable polyester sheet materials and recyclable barrier packages made therefrom
11130323 · 2021-09-28 · ·

Moldable sheet materials include a first layer including a first polyester, a second layer including a second polyester, and, optionally, a third layer including a third polyester. The first polyester, the second polyester, and the third polyester are the same as or different from each other of the first polyester, the second polyester, and the third polyester. The sheet materials exclude one or more of adhesives, ethylene vinyl alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinylidene chloride, polyamides, polyolefins, polystyrenes, and the like. Molded packages made from the sheet materials exhibit desirable oxygen and water vapor barrier properties while also being suitable for recycling in a polyethylene terephthalate recycle stream.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PACKAGING MATERIAL

A packaging material is provided, comprising a core material layer and at least one polymer layer being laminated thereto. The core material layer is provided with at least one area being configured to assist in folding the packaging material into a bottom end corner of a package to be formed, wherein the packaging material comprises a first set of crease lines being designed to form a bottom end of the package, and a second set of crease lines being designed to form a main body of the package. The at least one area comprises an intersection of a plurality of crease lines, each having a triangular cross-section, while a plurality of crease lines of the first set of crease lines, each having a triangular cross-section and having a virtual extension through the intersection, are terminated such that they end at a distance from the intersection.

Integrally molded body and method of producing same

An integrally molded body has a bonding resin (C) interposed between a board (A) and a member (B), one surface of the board being a design surface, wherein: inside the member (B), a first bonding section disposed to space apart the board (A) and the member (B) and by which at least a partial region of an outer peripheral edge section of the board (A) bonds to the bonding resin (C), is provided; and at least at a part of the design surface-side surface of the integrally molded body, a region where the board (A), the member (B), and the bonding resin (C) are exposed is provided. A plurality of structures can be bonded with high bonding strength and allows for the bonding boundary thereof to have favorable smoothness, thereby making it possible to mitigate warping and reduce weight and thickness even when the molded body has a board constituent member.

Testing Device for the In Situ Determination of the Fracture Toughness of Glued Joints

The invention relates to a testing device that can be transported and used in situ on a structure to be tested to determine the resistance thereof to peeling. The device fundamentally comprises: a drum with attachment elements for attaching to a specimen that is to be peeled from a hybrid adhesive joint of a structure, a movable carriage on which the drum is mounted; a frame along which the drum moves; and an actuation mechanism that determines the linear movement of the carriage or the rotational movement of the drum and which, by the reaction of the specimen, determines, respectively, the rotation of the drum or the linear displacement of the carriage.
