METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE PRECURSOR HAVING A PATTERNED BACK LAYER
A method for manufacturing a lithographic printing plate precursor includes the steps of providing a support as a web, coating an image recording layer on the front side of the support, and depositing a back layer on the back side of the support using a deposition technique which is capable of depositing the back layer according to a predefined image. The method enables stacking and recutting of lithographic printing plate precursors without the need for interleafs.

(ETHYLENE, VINYL ACETAL) COPOLYMERS AND THEIR USE IN LITHOGRAPHIC PRINTING PLATE PRECURSORS
A copolymer includes (i) a plurality of ethylenic moieties A having a structure according to the formula:
##STR00001## wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently represent hydrogen, a halogen, an optionally substituted linear, branched, or cyclic alk(en)yl group, or an optionally substituted aromatic or heteroaromatic; (ii) a plurality of acetal moieties B having a structure according to the formula:
##STR00002## wherein L.sup.1 represents a divalent linking group, x=0 or 1, and R.sup.1 represents an optionally substituted aromatic or heteroaromatic group including at least one hydroxyl group; and (iii) a plurality of acetal moieties C and/or moieties D which include a structural moiety including a chromophoric group having its main absorption in the infrared region.
Hydrophilic imaging member surface material for variable data ink-based digital printing systems and methods for manufacturing hydrophilic imaging member surface materials
An ink-based digital printing system suitable for use with hydrophilic and/or aqueous dampening fluids includes an imaging member having an imaging member material that is hydrophilic at the imaging surface.
Ink composition, ink jet recording method, method for producing planographic printing plate and planographic printing plate
The invention provides an ink composition including (A) a polymerization initiator and (B) a (meth)acrylic acid ester having an alicyclic group as a substituent or amide having an alicyclic group as a substituent. The ink composition preferably further contains (D) a colorant and (E) a sensitizing dye. The ink composition is used for ink jet recording.
