DEVICE FOR ALIGNING MAGNETIC OR MAGNETIZABLE PARTICLES AND MACHINE FOR GENERATING OPTICALLY VARIABLE IMAGE ELEMENTS
Magnetic or magnetizable particles contained in a coating agent can be aligned using a device that includes a cylinder having a plurality of magnetic elements around its outer circumference. The magnetic elements are arranged in a matrix having columns extending in the circumferential direction and rows extending in an axially parallel manner. The magnetic elements in some columns are mounted as a group on a shared carrier element, and have a variable axial position collectively as a group and independently of the magnetic elements of an adjoining column. In these columns, at least one of the magnetic elements is arranged on the carrier element of a multi-piece cylinder body of the cylinder so as to be adjustable in the axial direction, by way of a mechanical adjusting means, and independently of at least one further magnetic element of the same column which is mounted on the same carrier element.

Anti-Bounce Print Deck for Flexographic Printing Press
A device and a method is disclosed to maintain plate and anilox mandrel position stability in print decks of a flexographic printing press. In one aspect, the mandrel bearings associated with at least one of the plate roll and the anilox roll are preloaded for the purpose of eliminating backlash and increasing the positional stiffness of the bearings, and thus the mandrel. In another aspect, the roll drive motor control system is enabled to provide a torque additive command the torque profile to maintain rotational consistency and otherwise overcome torque transients experienced by the motor during print bounce. Accordingly, the problem commonly referred to as print bounce and or print banding is alleviated.
Processing unit and label printing machine having the processing unit
A processing unit for rotational processing includes at least two processing cylinders and a machine frame. A first processing cylinder is movably mounted in the machine frame, a second processing cylinder is stationarily mounted in the machine frame and a pair of support members is provided for each respective processing cylinder. A respective support member of the second processing cylinder has a solid joint, a manipulator and an annular segment attached to the solid joint and contacting one support member of the first processing cylinder. A solid joint is linearly displaceable by the manipulator and an annular segment is linearly displaceable therewith. A gap dimension between the processing cylinders can therefore be adjusted in a simple, accurate manner with precise repeatability. A label printing machine having the processing unit is also provided.

ADAPTING SLEEVE WITH HYDRAULIC PADS FOR A FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING MACHINE
An adapting sleeve for flexographic printing machines defines an exterior surface appropriate for the mounting of a printing sleeve. The adapting sleeve has an outer cylindrical member made of a rigid material and surrounding an inner cylindrical member that defines a cylindrical passage for mounting of the adapting sleeve on a rotary core of a flexographic printing machine. The adapting sleeve has some ring separators that are mounted between the outer cylindrical member and the inner cylindrical member and spaced longitudinally from each other. The adapting sleeve has a hydraulic device that includes hydraulic pads arranged between the inner surface of the inner cylindrical member and the ring separators and connected by a hydraulic circuit to a pressurization element that is actionable manually from the exterior of the adapting sleeve.
COVER BEARING SYSTEM
The invention is about a valve system to grip a sleeve over a mandrel in a press, in particular on how the gripper is brought toward and away from the mandrel and sleeve assembly. The gripper is disengaged from the sleeve, following first a straight path and then a helicoidal path, thanks to an ad-hoc slot machined on an axle. This allows to disengage the gripper and set it out of the way for handling the sleeve, with a single motor and a single instruction.
