Compressing an image based on an abnormality in the image
10721364 · 2020-07-21 · ·

An image inspection apparatus includes a tester and an image storage processor. The tester inspects image data for an abnormality and, in a case where the tester detected an abnormality, further detects a kind of the abnormality. The image data is generated by reading a surface of a sheet on which an image is formed by an image forming apparatus. The image storage processor determines a compression condition depending on whether or not the tester detected an abnormality and depending on the kind of the abnormality, performs compression processing of the image data under the compression condition, and generates data to be stored.

A printing machine has an ink fountain, a fountain roller in contact with the ink fountain, a ductor roller, at least an ink transfer roller and a controller configured and programmed to control the ductor roller. For the printing machine, individual graph data gr and its initial values gri, and average g of the graph data over the entire ductor roller and its initial value gi are used to change graph data gr and g during printing so as to cancel errors between measured printed densities and desired printed densities. An adjustment apparatus and method also achieve this task for such a printing machine.

Printed circuit board inspecting apparatus, method for detecting anomaly in solder paste and computer readable recording medium

A printed circuit board inspection apparatus obtains measurement shape information about each of a plurality of solder pastes printed on a first printed circuit board through a plurality of apertures and aperture shape information about each of the plurality of apertures, obtains probability values that a first solder paste printed through a first aperture of the plurality of apertures and each of a plurality of second solder pastes printed through second apertures other than the first aperture of the plurality of apertures have the measurement shape information when the first solder paste and the plurality of second solder pastes are printed on the first printed circuit board, by applying the measurement shape information and the aperture shape information to a machine-learning based model, and detects whether an anomaly in the first solder paste occurred based on the probability values.

Printed circuit board inspecting apparatus, method for determining fault type of screen printer and computer readable recording medium

A printed circuit board inspection apparatus generates at least one image indicating whether an anomaly associated with a plurality of solder pastes printed on a first printed circuit board is detected, if an anomaly in at least one solder paste of the plurality of solder pastes is detected by using an image of the first printed circuit board, obtains at least one value indicating relevance between at least one fault type and the generated at least one image, using the machine-learning based model, and determines a fault type associated with the at least one solder paste in which the anomaly is detected from at least one fault type, based on the obtained at least one value.

Method for controlling a display device which is connected in data terms to a printing press, and display device of a printing press
10661556 · 2020-05-26 · ·

A display device which is connected, in data terms, to a printing press, is controlled. A depiction of a printed image, which is printed onto a printing material by the printing press, together with a plurality of ink zones, arranged next to one another transversely, with respect to a transport direction of the printing material which is guiding through the printing press, of at least one inking unit, which is arranged in the printing press, are indicated on a display surface of the display device of a control unit in a controlled manner. The inking zones are indicated by way of parallel boundary lines, which delimit them in each case. For the display of the boundary lines which delimit the inking zones, the control unit fixes one of the color thereof and the brightness thereof and the opaqueness thereof in a manner which is dependent on a minimum contrast which has previously been set in the control unit, in order to form an image region, adjoining the boundary lines, of the printed image which is displayed on the image surface of the display device and displays the boundary lines which delimit the inking zones in the contrast ratio which is fixed in respect of the printed image which is displayed on the display surface of the display device.

METERING ROLLER FOR AN INK STATION ASSEMBLY OF A DECORATOR AND A METHOD OF DECORATING A CONTAINER WITH THE DECORATOR
20200147954 · 2020-05-14 · ·

An apparatus and methods of decorating exterior surfaces of metallic containers are provided. More specifically, the present disclosure provides a novel metering roller for an inking assembly of a decorator. An adjustment mechanism is operable to move the metering roller to a first ink transfer position during a decoration run. In the first ink transfer position, the metering roller receives ink from an ink roller without contacting the ink roller. In one embodiment, during the production run, the metering roller is in contact with and transfers ink to a transfer roller. When the decoration run stops, the adjustment mechanism can move the metering roller to a second dwell position such that the metering roller does not receive ink from the ink roller.

Systems and methods for inspecting and evaluating qualities of printed regions on substrates for absorbent articles

The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for inspecting and evaluating qualities of printed regions on substrates, wherein the systems and methods may be configured to eliminate subjective aspects relating to human involvement in performing visual checks when evaluating print quality. The systems may include one or more communication networks connecting one or more sensors with an analyzer. In operation, ink is applied to a substrate to create at least one printed region, and the sensors are configured to inspect the printed region. The sensors may be configured to communicate measurements and/or images to the analyzer. And the analyzer may then calculate one or more quality subscores based on respective measurements and/or images. In turn, a full print quality score may be calculated based on one or more of the quality subscores. The analyzer may then execute a control action based on the full print quality score.
