COLOR CONTROL PATTERN FOR THE OPTICAL MEASUREMENT OF COLORS PRINTED ON A SHEET OR WEB SUBSTRATE BY MEANS OF A MULTICOLOR PRINTING PRESS AND USES THEREOF
There is described a color control pattern (CP) for the optical measurement of colors printed on a sheet or web substrate (S) by means of a multicolor printing press, especially by means of a multicolor security printing press, which substrate (S) exhibits an effective printed region (EF) having a multicolor printed image comprising a plurality of juxtaposed colored areas (A-H) printed with a corresponding plurality of printing inks of different colors, wherein the color control pattern (CP) is located in a margin portion (Im) of the substrate (S) next to the effective printed region (EF). The color control pattern (CP) comprises one or more color control strips (a-d) extending transversely to a direction of transport (T) of the substrate (S), each color control strip (a-d) comprising a plurality of distinct color control fields (CF, CF.sub.A to CF.sub.H) consisting of printed fields of each relevant printing ink that is printed in the effective printed region (EF). The color control fields (CE, CF.sub.A to CF.sub.H) are coordinated to actual application of the relevant printing inks in the effective printed region (EF) and are positioned transversely to the direction of transport (T) of the substrate (S) at locations corresponding to actual positions where the relevant printing inks are applied in the effective printed region (EF).
INSPECTION SYSTEM HAVING A PLURALITY OF DETECTION ZONES
An inspection system has a plurality of detection regions. The plurality of these detection regions of the inspection system are arranged to jointly inspect a printed sheet which has a plurality of printed regions. A first detection region is arranged to inspect a first printed region of the printed sheet and a second detection region is arranged to inspect a second printed region of the same printed sheet. A first measurement technology sensitivity is set for the first detection region and a second measurement technology sensitivity is set for the second detection region in the inspection system. The first measurement technology sensitivity and the second measurement technology sensitivity are set to be different from one another. The first measurement technology sensitivity and the second measurement technology sensitivity are set in each case either manually, by the use of an operating element, or automatically by the use of a program.
Remote adjustment of print settings
Systems and methods for providing remote approval of an image for printing are provided. One system includes a processing circuit in communication with an image capturing device that is configured to capture an image of a printed product. The processing circuit is configured to process the captured image into a processed image accurate to within a tolerance in a color space to indicate the visual appearance of one or more colors. The color space is a standardized color space, such as sRGB or CIELAB. The processing circuit is further configured to transmit the processed image to a display located remote from the image capturing device and to receive an input signal from a remote input device to allow a user to approve or reject the displayed processed image for printing on a print device.
Ink supply method and ink supply device
Correction values (1-n) according to image area ratios in ranges of a printing plate of a preceding print job corresponding to ink fountain keys (4-1-4-n) are obtained. Opening amounts (1b-nb) of the ink fountain keys (4-1-4-n) corresponding to the image of the printing plate (7) of a next print job are corrected by correction values (1-n) to obtain corrected opening amounts (1b-nb). In a state in which ink in an ink roller group (6) has been decreased by scraping and removing it by an ink scraper blade (15) and in a state in which the opening amounts of the ink fountain keys (4-1-4-n ) have been set to the corrected opening amounts (1b-nb), an ink film thickness distribution corresponding to the image of the printing plate of the next print job is formed on the ink roller group (6).
DIGITAL INK-SUPPLYING METHOD FOR PRINTING PRESS
The present invention discloses an accurate digital ink supply method for a printing press. The present invention adopts metering-type ink delivery units to replace the ink keys of the traditional printing press, and the metering-type ink delivery units directly deliver the ink to the corresponding ink zones on the metering basis of either volume or mass, realizing the quantitative supply of ink to each one of the ink zones. The present invention can perform accurate adjustment in real time, is high in automation and digitalization degree and large in adjustable range, realizes one-way ink delivery and avoids ink return.
